Fresh Figs. Am I Late to the Party?

Let’s talk figs – and yes, I’m fashionably late to the party, as usual! Fig season may be drawing to a close, but if you happen to live in the northern corners of Italy or the picturesque regions of Croatia, there’s still time to get your hands on some fresh, juicy figs. For those of you who don’t have a fig tree in your garden, this is your chance to get your ingredient from your local supermarket, NOW!

Ok, let’s just calm down :D. I was just being a bit melodramatic 🙂
You can even use fig jam to make a fig and prosciutto pizza. Of course, you would just put the fig jam in the salsa pomodoro and top it with prosciutto. The rest or the recipe remains the same.

Notes

  • Using a store-bought pizza crust makes this recipe quicker and easier.
  • Consider adding fresh herbs on top of the pizza. Basil is a great choice, but the best option is to add fresh arugula. This way, you’ll have a hint of bitterness in every bite. It’s an absolutely amazing taste.
