Making the churro dough and frying in the oil.

Step 1: Make Dough

Place a pot or saucepan on medium heat and combine water, butter, salt, and cinnamon. Allow the ingredients to melt together and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to low add the flour and stir vigorously until the mix forms a ball. Let rest for 5-7 minutes.

Mixing the dough.

Step 2: Prepare Dough for Frying

Place the dough ball in a bowl and stir in the eggs, one by one until fully combined. Heat oil in a medium skillet on medium-high heat or until the temperature reaches 350° F, make sure your oil is at the right temperature. Spoon dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star piping tip.

Step 3: Fry Churro Bites Until Golden Brown

Begin squeezing the filled piping bag over the hot oil that has a rolling boil. Once 2-3 inches of dough is out of the piping bag, use scissors to cut the dough to get bite-size pieces. Fry the churros until they are fully golden brown. Give the bites room to fry. Do not overcrowd. Remove churros from oil one at a time from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain the excess oil.

Placing the fried dough into the cinnamon and sugar.

Step 4: Create Topping

In a medium bowl mix sugar and cinnamon together. Place each piece into the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss around to ensure the bites are fully coated. Churros are best eaten right away. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Recipe FAQs about the Walt Disney World Churros Recipe

Yes! You can make the dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. When you’re ready to cook, let the dough come to room temperature first.

The oil should be heated 375 degrees F before frying the dough. You can use a candy thermometer to make sure the oil is the correct temperature. If you don’t have a candy thermometer, just place a tiny bit on dough in the oil to check if it’s hot enough.

Place your leftovers in an airtight container or zip top bag and store at room temperature for up to a day.
