AIR FRYER BACON

First off I have to confess that I’m late to the air fryer game but I’ve obviously been missing something huge. Like air fryer bacon! How did I miss this? I wish I’d discovered this method earlier! I mean really… this method has been a game-changer for me!

And while this isn’t really a recipe (more of a how-to) it’s so good I felt I had to share.

Unless I was making bacon for a large crowd I used to cook it in the microwave however I found that a little too high-maintenance. To ensure I didn’t overcook it I found that I’d have to check it often. Now that I have the air fryer method down I don’t have to check it at all. It cooks perfectly every time. As the air fryer circulates the air underneath there is also no need to turn the bacon. And as a bonus, my air fryer basket goes in the dishwasher so cleanup is extra easy.

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make This

One ingredient. Bacon. Just bacon!

  • Bacon – I prefer to use good quality organic bacon but you can use any bacon you have on hand.

How Do I Make Air Fryer Bacon?

There’s no need to preheat the air fryer. Just place the bacon in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer. Adjust the heat to 350F and set the timer. In my 1500-watt air fryer, I find the bacon cooks perfectly to my liking (slightly crispy) in 8:30 minutes. Depending on the wattage of your air fryer you might have to cook the bacon a little less or more. The first time you cook it start checking the doneness at the 7-minute mark. If you want it crispier cook it a little longer. Once you’ve figured out the timing you won’t need to check it any longer. Just set the timer and it will cook perfectly every time.

  7. I do not have an air-fryer yet…have always cooked bacon in the pan – a little water and allow it to cook in its fat – doesn’t stick on the pan and it’s extra crispy. Also, I love to collect bacon fat – was wondering if there’s fat when you air fry? Thanks!

    1. Yes Marie, sometimes a little fat is collected at the bottom of the air fryer so you can pour it out. I like that the bacon sits on a shelf above that so it’s not sitting in the fat.
