What You’ll Need To Make This Recipe

This easy white chocolate peppermint fudge recipe only requires 4 ingredients:

  • Condensed milk
  • White chocolate chips
  • Peppermint extract
  • Crushed candy canes

You’ll combine the condensed milk, white chocolate chips, and peppermint extract to make a simple white chocolate and mint fudge. Then, finish it off with a crushed candy cane topping for a festive (and crunchy) topping!

Typically, you can buy condensed milk in 14 ounce cans. The recipe below uses half a can (7 oz) to make about 64 squares of fudge – plenty for feeding a crowd at a holiday party or packaging as Christmas gifts. Use the leftover condensed milk to make a small batch of our sea salt caramel chocolate fudge, or simply double this recipe to use the whole can of condensed milk in one go.

You can crush candy canes yourself by simply sealing them (unwrapped) in a plastic bag, then tapping them with a meat pounder or even the bottom of a saucepan. For an easy shortcut, you can also buy pre-crushed candy canes from the store – you can typically find them in the candy or baking aisle around the holidays.

Bonus: You can also make this peppermint fudge with only 3 ingredients! Skip the crushed candy canes for a simplified variation on this recipe that packs just as much peppermint flavor. It’ll also last longer and be easier to package for gifting this way, since the candy cane topping gets sticky the longer it sits.

How To Make White Chocolate Peppermint Christmas Fudge

This white chocolate peppermint fudge recipe is so easy, it’ll only take about 5 minutes of your time! Here’s how to make delicious holiday fudge with white chocolate chips, condensed milk, and peppermint extract:

  1. Grease a brownie pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper (the cooking spray helps the parchment stay in place).
  2. Heat condensed milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, then add the white chocolate chips.
  3. Stir vigorously and continuously with a rubber spatula until the chocolate chips melt and the consistency is smooth, about 2 minutes. Scrape the bottom and sides of the saucepan as you stir to help prevent any of the chocolate from sticking and burning.
  4. Remove fudge from heat and stir in peppermint extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the fudge into the parchment-lined pan. Spread it out into an even layer with a rubber spatula, or let it settle by itself if you’re okay with a more organic shape.
  6. Top with crushed candy canes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.

Serving & Storing White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge

Once the fudge has set, you can remove it from the pan and slice it into squares. Grab a large cutting board and a sharp chef’s knife to make clean, straight cuts in a crosshatch pattern, about 1 inch apart.

You can store this fudge in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week. If you forgo the candy cane topping, it will stay good for up to 2 weeks. The candy cane gets a little sticky the longer it sits, so skipping the topping helps the fudge stay fresh longer.

This white chocolate candy cane fudge is perfect for serving at holiday parties or packaging up for Christmas gifts. Display it on a serving platter for dessert time or add a few squares to cellophane gift bags tied up with ribbon and pass them out to your friends, neighbors, and coworkers. What better way to spread holiday cheer than with a festive dessert like this holiday fudge?

Easy White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge

All you need to make this easy white chocolate peppermint fudge recipe is 4 ingredients and 5 minutes! Serve this festive fudge at a Christmas party or gift it to your friends and family this holiday season.
Servings 64 pieces
Prep Time 5 minutes
Set Time 2 hours
Total Time 2 hours 5 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ¼ cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  • Lightly grease an 8-inch brownie pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper (the cooking spray helps the parchment stay in place).
  • In a medium saucepan, warm the condensed milk over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Then add the white chocolate chips and begin stirring, scraping the bottom and sides of the saucepan as the chocolate melts. Stir vigorously and continuously until the white chocolate chips have melted and are fully incorporated, about 2 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from heat and stir in the peppermint extract until fully incorporated. The fudge should have a smooth, creamy consistency at this point.
  • Pour the fudge into the prepared pan. Use a rubber spatula to help spread it into an even layer, or let it settle by itself for a more organic shape. Then sprinkle the crushed candy canes evenly over the top of the fudge.
  • Set fudge in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing.

Notes

Essential tools: A rubber spatula is super helpful when making fudge! You’ll use it to scrape, stir, and smooth the fudge at different stages in this recipe. (It’ll even help you get all the condensed milk out of the can).
Stirring the fudge: Once you add the white chocolate chips, start stirring and don’t stop until it’s all melted and the fudge is a smooth and creamy consistency. Otherwise your chocolate may burn, and you’ll end up with more of a lumpy texture.
Candy cane topping: The candy cane topping adds a crunchy texture and festive look to this fudge, but you can totally skip this if you want an easy 3-ingredient fudge. It will store for about 1 week longer this way and will be easier to package for Christmas gifts (see notes below).
Serving suggestions: This easy peppermint fudge is the perfect dessert for Christmas parties. It also makes a great gift for friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Slice it into squares using a large chef’s knife and package small servings in cellophane gift bags!
Storing fudge: The fudge will last in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. If you choose not to top the fudge with crushed candy canes (see note above on candy cane topping), it will last 2 weeks.
