Coconut Milk: Instead of using heavy cream to make this tasty recipe, you can use coconut milk if you want a dairy-free option. 

Chicken: If you are out of chicken breasts or can’t find them you can use cut up boneless skinless chicken thighs instead. 

Curry Powder: If you’re out of this spice, you can try Garam Masala or any other substitute for curry powder.

How to Make Air Fryer Curry Chicken

Making this curry chicken recipe is simple. Just follow these instructions and you will have a meal that your entire family will love in no time at all. 

Step 1: In a large bowl combine the chicken, onion and garlic, and spices

In a mixing bowl, add the chicken, onion, and garlic. Add the oil and spices and mix. Marinade for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Add the chicken to a shallow pan 

Place curry into a pan that fits your air fryer basket. Use a shallow pan to spread out the chicken.

Step 3: Air fry the curry chicken for 15 minutes 

Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Mix together the cornstarch slurry and cream

Remove cooked chicken and juices to a mixing bowl. Add cream and cornstarch slurry. Mix.

Step 5: Return the chicken to the air fryer 

Place back in the pan and air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 7 more minutes.

Step 6: Garnish and serve

Remove and serve topped with chopped cilantro and paired with basmati rice and fresh warm naan.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion chopped
  • 1 ½ tablespoons garlic cloves minced
  • 5 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts diced into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water
