Chinese Crispy Chilli Beef

Happy Wednesday guys! Recipe of the day is Chinese Crispy Chilli Beef – super crispy beef piece, coated in Asian flavours with a hint of chilli.

Chinese Crispy Chilli Beef

OK, I’ve never been a big beef fan when Chinese takeaway is considered, I usually go for the spicy prawn or anything with prawns, really… Until now 😉 Honestly, this Chinese Crispy Chilli Beef is on another level. Make sure to use good quality meat, if possible, it really makes a difference. The strips need to be really thin so they get really crispy easily. The rest is left to all those amazing Asian flavours. Don’t forget to coat the meat with corn flour and egg before frying it.

Chinese Crispy Chilly Beef

Even though it’s called a Chilli Beef, you can easily adjust the level of spiciness according to your liking. I used on red chilli but it was quite mild, so it was fine for the kids. However, I added more chillies to my portion, as you might’ve guessed. 🙂

It’s such a versatile dish, you can serve it with rice, veggies or on its own, it’s super delish. 🙂

  2. Heat a pan with 1tbsp of the sunflower oil and fry the first batch of the beef strips, around 2 minutes on each side. Remove and leave on a side. Heat another tbsp of the oil and repeat until all the beef strips are cooked. Alternatively, you can deep fry them.
