There is nothing more satisfying and delicious as beef when it is done to perfection. This Mississippi Pot Roast Sandwich has so many layers of flavor that you will savor each bite. Also, another reason it is one of my favorite’s, is it is supper easy to prepare and can feed a crowd.

Ingredient Notes for Crockpot Mississippi Pot Roast

  • Chuck Roast: A 3-to-4-pound beef roast for this crock pot Mississippi roast.
  • Italian Salad Dressing Mix: an envelope of the dry mix. Or a ranch dressing mix will work.
  • Au Jus Gravy Mix: A one ounce package of au jus mix.
  • Unsalted butter
  • Pepperoncini: A jar of pepperoncini, sliced into rings.
  • Roasted Red Peppers: Sliced.
  • Crusty Rolls
  • Provolone Cheese: 6 slices, one slice of provolone to top off each of these sandwiches.

How to Make Crock Pot Mississippi Pot Roast Sandwiches

These are the basic steps for making best Mississippi pot roast. Please refer to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions.

STEP 1:PREP

First, place a slow cooker liner in your crock pot.Then, place Chuck Roast in crock pot.Next, sprinkle the Italian Dressing packet over the roast.

STEP 2:ADD

Then add the Au Jus packet and follow with the butter.Next, cut up your pepperoncini peppers and then add to crock pot. Finally, cook on low for 8 hours.

STEP 3: MELTED PROVOLONE CHEESE

When roast is cooked remove from the crock pot and then shred with two forks. It will fall apart and next, place beef on rolls, top with roasted red peppers and cheese. Then place shredded meat sandwiches under broiler until cheese melts. Lastly, serve your Mississippi Pot Roast Sandwich with reserved sauce.

  • 3-4 pound chuck roast
  • 0.6 oz envelope Italian salad dressing mix, I use Good Seasons
  • 1 oz packet Au Jus Gravy mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup pepperonicini, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
  • 6 crusty sandwich rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions
