Expert Tips

Chill Glasses – Put cocktail glasses in the freezer for 1+ hours to chill them. This will help avoid the watery rim the occurs around the edges of the glass.

Crushed Ice – If you have easy access to crushed ice, use it! It is much easier on your blender and makes smooth, thick margaritas with ease!

Mango Garnish – Thawed mango holds its textured and shape much better than other frozen fruits. So, if you want to add a “fresh” mango garnish, thaw a few pieces of frozen mango and use that!

Recipe FAQs

Why are my frozen margaritas watery?

This could be caused by too little ice, blending too long, or the glass being too warm.
To fix a watery margarita, simply add more ice or frozen fruit to the blender. To avoid them becoming watery, chill your margarita glasses in the freezer before pouring up your margarita to help keep them frozen longer.

How to rim a glass?

Use a lime wedge (or something similar) to wet the rim of the glass. Then flip the glass upside down and dip the rim in salt or sugar.Instruction to salt the rim of a glass for margaritas.

What kind of sugar do you use to rim a glass?

Plain white sugar will do the trick! However, if you want to get creative, you can also rim your glass with brown sugar, powdered sugar, or sprinkles/crystal sugar.

What salt do you use to rim a margarita glass?

Kosher salt is most commonly used for margaritas. Flaky sea salt is also a good option. Table salt will work but use is sparingly because the saltines can get overpowering.
