Can You Use a Blender?
Many people who make hummus swear by using a blender instead of a food processor. If you have a high speed blender on hand, you can certainly use that instead. Many people have said that they get a creamier texture when they use a blender instead of a food processor. Using a high powered blender will yield creamy results quick.
Don’t have a high speed blender but a stick blender instead? You can use a stick blender. I have not used this method myself but I’ve done some reading up on it and it seems to work for a lot of recipe creators. It may take a little more time to get the perfect texture.
How to Make The Lemon Dill Hummus Even Creamier!
Making this hummus even creamier takes a little more time than 15 minutes. It’s more than dumping everything into a blender or food processor and powering up. Instead, it has everything to do with the chickpeas. The secret is slightly overcooked chickpeas.
If you want to try a creamier hummus, place the canned chickpeas in a saucepan after they’ve been rinsed and drained. Full with water, enough to cover the chickpeas and bring to a boil. Boil for 20 minutes. Once done, drain the chickpeas and add to the food processor or blender and continue with the recipe. There you have it, extra creamy hummus!
How Long Does Lemon Dill Hummus Last?
The lemon dill hummus can be kept in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. The longer the hummus sits, the more flavorful your hummus will become. The lemon dill hummus can be frozen as long as its stored properly in an airtight container. You can keep the hummus in the freezer for up to 4 months. Thaw completely in the refrigerator before eating.
