STEP 1: Boil

In a large saucepan combine granulated sugar, cocoa, butter, milk and salt. Boil for five minutes.

STEP 2: Stir in the Oats over Medium Heat

In a large bowl, combine the quick oats (or rolled oats), vanilla, stir in the peanut butter and walnuts if you’d like. Pour hot chocolate mixture over dry ingredients.

Using two spoons, plop mounds onto the prepared baking sheets with parchment paper and shape the cookies. Place in the fridge, allowing the cookies to cool completely and the cookies set.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter, 1 stick
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 ½ cups Rolled or quick oats
  • ½ cup Peanut butter
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts, optional
