What is Agua Fresca?

Agua Fresca, translated as “fresh water', is a popular non-alcoholic drink in Mexico that is made by blending any fruit with sugar, lime juice, and cold water.

Recipe Notes
  • Make sure you use a ripe seasonal watermelon or else the agua fresca will have a bland flavor and will require additional sweetness.
  • If you are making this for adults, you can add a shot of your favorite vodka, tequila, or rum for an alcoholic summer cocktail. You’ll feel like you’re on vacation with every sip!
  • You can strain the blended agua fresca to get rid of the pulp if you prefer it to be ultra-smooth.
  • You can store this in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
