How to Make Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash

This recipe comes together in just a few simple steps. Follow the steps below and you will have a delicious meal in no time at all.

Step 1: Prep the spaghetti squash

Cut the squash in half and scoop out the seeds and membranes.

Step 2: Add water and trivet to the Instant Pot

Add the water to your instant pot and place the trivet in the pot.

Step 3: Add the spaghetti squash to the trivet

Place the spaghetti squash on top of the trivet.

Step 4: Place the lid on the pressure cooker

Close the lid of your instant pot and turn the valve to sealing.

Step 5: Pressure cook for 7 minutes

Set your instant pot to manual pressure for 7 minutes.

Step 6: Warm the sauce

While you wait for your squash to cook, warm up your favorite jarred pasta sauce.

Step 7: Quick release the pressure

Perform a quick pressure release.

Step 8: Remove the squash from the pot

Remove the squash from the pot and scoop noodles onto bowls or plates. If desired, you can serve it family-style, inside the skins.

Step 9: Top with pasta sauce

Top with your heated jarred sauce and parmesan cheese, if so desired. Serve and enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds spaghetti squash one medium sized squash
  • 1 cup water
  • 24 ounces pasta sauce optional
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese optional
  • cup sliced olives optional

Instructions
 

  • Cut the squash in half. Scoop out seeds and membranes from inside the squash.
  • Add water to the Instant Pot and place the trivet in the pot. Put the spaghetti squash on top of the trivet.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid and turn the valve to sealing.
  • Set manual pressure time of 7 minutes. Do a quick pressure release.
  • While the squash is cooking heat up the jarred sauce on the stovetop on medium low or low heat.
  • Remove the squash from the pot and scoop squash ‘noodles’ out, or eat straight from the squash skin.
  • Top with sauce and cheese then serve and enjoy.
