If you have made meatloaf before you are probably asking yourself what is so special about this recipe.

Well for one, no eggs! The other thing you may notice is no bread crumbs are called for in this recipe. You are probably wondering what is going to hold the meat together (aka binder).

For this copycat meatloaf recipe, the tomato sauce mixture you add to the meat mixture as well as the all purpose flour acts as a binder.

The other thing that is different with this meatloaf recipe is that you bake it for about 30 minutes, then slice the meatloaf, add more sauce then bake for another 30 minutes.

The end result is a super moist meatloaf. Oh and you also get to use whatever kind of BBQ sauce you want. Sweet or Spicy, you decide!

Our friends over at the USDA recommend an internal temperature of 160°F when cooking meatloaf. This should be enough to kill the salmonella.

You can take the meatloaf out of the oven at around 150°F and let it rest for 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature again before slicing & serving.
