Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs

Even though these aren’t actually going to be hung in the tree, there’s no reason that you can’t be hung up on how awesome they are. They’re literally an edible work of art!

Why won’t my hot cocoa bomb stick together?

Just add more chocolate to the edges and that should do the trick. I like to put chocolate on the edges and really seal them up so that they hold in all the ingredients and I don’t have to worry about them breaking apart. Use your finger to smooth on some extra melted chocolate on the seams.

What you’ll need to make Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs

Here are all of the ingredients and materials you’ll need to create these beautiful and delicious Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs.

  • 1 cup White Candy Melts
  • 1 cup Green Candy Melts
  • 1 cup Red Candy Melts
  • 2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 12 Rolo Candies
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse Ground Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Christmas Sprinkles 

How to make Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs

All you have to do is follow the simple directions below to get started. You’ll be enjoying hot chocolate in no time at all.

Step one

Put the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl (separated by colors) and melt per directions.

Step two

Drizzle some of the red candy melts over a few of the molds and try to do two that are similar so that when you put them together, they match up. Have fun and be creative.

Step three

Put the molds in the freezer for 5 minutes.

Step four

Take them out of the freezer and put 1 tablespoon of the melted white candy or the green candy into one half of the molds. Spread out using the back of your spoon and get the chocolate up the sides as well. Leave it thick. Do this to all of the mold halves.

Step five

Put the molds in the freezer again for another 5 minutes.

Step six

Take them out of the freezer and tap the sides gently. This will help loosen the chocolate to take out of the molds.

Step seven

Fill 1/2 of the molds (6) with 2 tablespoons of the hot chocolate mix and up to 8 mini marshmallows.

Step eight

Heat a plate to where it gets warm in the microwave and put one of the empty chocolate bomb halves open side down on top. Leave it for 10 seconds so it starts to melt.

Step nine

Once it melts a bit, press it down on the other half of the matching mold. This will make a complete circle.

Step ten

Decorate by adding sprinkles or anything you desire.

Step eleven

Put a dollop of the melted chocolate on top of the bomb and press a Rolo candy on top.

Step twelve

Put them back in the freezer for 5 minutes.
