One-Pan Creamy Tuna Pasta | Crazy Delicious & Done in 30 Minutes

If you´re looking for a pasta dish that´s packed with flavors, easy to make and comes together in 30 minutes, this One-Pan Creamy Tuna Pasta is your jam. We´re talking a beautiful explosion of goodness, made with the simplest ingredients and done using just one pan. Hello easy clean up 🙂 .

One-Pan Creamy Tuna Pasta
This is the perfect dish for a busy weeknight dinner. Yet it´s bold enough for an elegant weekend lunch next to a bottle of Spanish wine. Either way you dice it, this promises to be one of the best tasting pasta dishes ever.

One-Pan Creamy Tuna Pasta
To cook the pasta, I used vegetable broth, but you can always use water. I just prefer to use broth, as it adds more depth of flavors to the overall dish. I also added a dash of sweet smoked Spanish paprika, to give it a smoky touch that is not over-powering.

One-Pan Creamy Tuna Pasta

TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: The penne pasta I used took 12 to 13 minutes to get it perfectly cooked al dente. I cooked the pasta for 9 minutes on a high heat and then for another 3 to 4 minutes on a low-medium heat with a lid. Make sure to check the package instructions on the pasta you´re using and adjust the cooking times. So you don´t over-cook the pasta.

Key Ingredients & Cookware I used in this Recipe:
MY NONSTICK FRYING PAN
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
SPANISH PAPRIKA
HOMEMADE VEGETABLE BROTH
SPANISH SEA SALT

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 ml
  • 2 shallots
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp sweet smoked Spanish paprika 1.15 grams
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes 400 grams
  • 2 cups vegetable broth 475 ml
  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta 200 grams
  • 2 cans tuna in olive oil 3.25 oz / 90 grams each
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt 125 grams
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley 8 grams
  • pinch sea salt
  • dash black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a large fry pan with a medium heat and add in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  2. After 2 minutes, add in 2 shallots thinly sliced and 4 cloves garlic roughly chopped, mix with the olive oil, after 2 minutes and the shallots & garlic are lightly sauteed, add in 1/2 tsp sweet smoked paprika and quickly mix together, then add in a 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes and season with sea salt & black pepper, mix together and raise to a high heat

  3. After simmering the tomatoes for about 3 minutes, add in 2 cups vegetable broth, mix together and bring to a boil, then add in 2 cups uncooked penne pasta, mix together and cook for about 9 minutes, then place a lid on the pan and lower to a low-medium heat, after 3 to 4 minutes and the majority of the broth has been absorbed by the pasta, turn off the heat and remove the lid

  4. Meanwhile, drain 2 cans of tuna in olive oil into a sieve with a bowl underneath, mix the tuna around to remove any excess oil

  5. After leaving the pasta to slightly cool off, add in the drained tuna, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt at room temperature, 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley and season with black pepper, mix together until well mixed

  6. Top off with finely chopped parsley and serve at once, enjoy!

Hey, I made this and it was lovely; although I made an error and used a whole teaspoon of the smoked paprika and definitely agree that half a teaspoon is enough.

Are you sure on the calorie calculation? I weighted and calculated everything used and it came out to 1054 for the whole dish rather than per portion – portion wise it would be about 525 per portion. (I ate the lot as I’m shooting for 1000 calories per meal).

    Very filling and delicious!

Very tasty, but I’m glad I noticed that 200g of pasta is twice as much as is needed for 2 people!

I used a homemade shrimp stock instead of vegetable, and it was fantastic. This looks to be a pescatarian blog, so I expect to see a lot of vegetable broth. But don’t forget how delicious shrimp and fish stocks can be!

I just made this dish and on my sweet lord, it’s fantastic! That flavor from the smoked paprika is incredible and I never realized how well it paired with fish. This is now my favorite pasta dish and I’ll be making it regularly, especially considering how healthy it is. I also loved the video that accompanies the recipe, it was really helpful to see how the pasta looks when it’s time to put the lid on. Thank you so much Albert, and I can’t wait to try some of your other recpies!

Great recipe and I think making the homemade veg stock is definitely the way to go. I doubled the sauce recipe and tripled the stock for 6 cups of pasta and it worked out perfectly.

Good dish! I used fresh tomatoes and Philadelphia cream cheese because thats what I had and it was delicious. I added a bit of sugar to lessen the sourness of tomatoes.

This is a really lovely recipe. I added a bit more salt, pepper than listed, and added some chilli flakes, as I like a kick. I also gluten pasta for lentil pasta, and swapped yoghurt from creme fraiche I had in fridge, but everything worked perfectly. You can even add sweetcorn or beans, and this is fantastic. Thank you!

Excellent recipe! I used a little more pasta than 2 cups and it still came out great with lots of sauce. Didn’t have penne so I used bucatini, and it worked. Used only 1 can of Cento tuna in olive oil, drained, it was perfect. Very very creamy with no need for cheese. Thank you for this, I’m sharing this recipe.

Been looking for delicious recipes for the New Year which still are ‘healthy, not too calorific’.
Love the ingredients in this but shocked when it said 987 calories per serving-by my rough maths counting through the ingredients, surely it’s 987 in total, for the 2 servings? hope so!

This dish was so dry. There was nothing creamy about it.If I had cooked the pasta for 9 minutes it would have been burnt stuck to the pan. Definitely not enough liquid. I even put in more yogurt but that didn’t help. The tuna could barely be warmed because you’re supposed to take it off the heat. The flavor was nothing to write home about. Very disappointed and a waste of 2 cans of Albacore tuna.

Made this for lunch today and it was quick and delicious! I added some fresh diced oregano leaves and sprinkled the top with Parmesan cheese for some added punch. I like that I had all the ingredients already on hand and there was very little cleanup. Thanks for this!
