Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these nutrient-dense balls of protein are both savory and sweet, bite-sized, and the perfect side dish to any cuisine. The kids will love them, so much that they may even take the place of potato chips!

Air fryers have gained massive popularity over the last couple of years, (and for good reason). While I work on my main dish, I can leave the air fryer to do its thing, with the occasional flip. It literally cannot get any easier, ideal for the busy soccer mom (or dad) to get healthy food on the table during the weeknight rush. I never thought my kids would be asking me for brussels sprouts, but here we are, and they have never tasted so good!

I’ve always been a veggie-lovin’ girl, and I was inspired by this recipe when looking for a good pairing for this corn, avocado, and cilantro salad. I also really liked it as a side dish for this Slow Cooker Ham.

Brussels Sprouts In The Air Fryer

Did you know that brussels sprouts are the most hated vegetable in America? Well, that’s definitely because the people who said this never tried air-frying them! At All Things Mamma, we are huge brussels sprouts fans because they’re so versatile. They’re antioxidant-rich, may help protect against cancer, are high in fiber to keep us regular, and are ideal for the air fryer. These are also suitable for most diets, and they’re a great side dish to bring to Thanksgiving dinner or even Christmas.

FAQ

Do you need to soak brussel sprouts before cooking?

To prepare, you can soak your brussels sprouts in a bowl of cold, salted water for twenty minutes. Drain. Trim the stems with kitchen scissors or knife, and discard any yellow outer leaves.

Why won’t my brussel sprouts get crispy?

Make sure to crank up the heat to get that crisp we are all craving! Get the air fryer hot before you throw them in.

Are fried brussel sprouts healthy?

With only 2 tbsps of olive oil, these brussels sprouts are seriously healthy. Even though they taste as scrumptious as a deep-fried treat, the amount of oil used is minimal.

Can you put wet vegetables in an air fryer?

Air fryers work by circulating hot air, so your brussels sprouts should be evenly coated with oil, with it rubbed into them thoroughly before air frying. If your sprouts are dripping wet with oil, you have added too much.

Top Tips

While you can reach some level of crispness if you opt for roasting, there is a whole other level of crispy crunch when you pop these in the fryer. You can enjoy the taste of deep-fried food without actually sacrificing nutrition.

  • The Brussels Sprout can be kept for up to 4 days in the fridge. You can reheat them in the air Fryer at 350 ̊F for 3 minutes.
