  • Chicken Breast: Boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed into bite size chunks.
  • Coating: All Purpose Flour, cornstarch, egg and All Purpose Seasoning.
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Soy sauce: A low salt version can be great in this recipe.
  • White vinegar
  • Oil, Chili Oil, Garlic etc..
  • Sesame seeds: For sauce and some for garnish.
  • Brown sugar: Just a touch of sweet to compliment the hot.

How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Bites

These are the basic steps for making air fryer breaded chicken. Please refer to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions.

STEP 1: SAUCE

First, in a small saucepan on medium heat, combine all the sauce ingredients and stir and then bring to boil then set heat to warm.

STEP 2: COAT

Second, in bowl, mix the  All purpose seasoning, flour and cornstarch. Next, toss the bite-size pieces of chicken cubes until fully coated.

STEP 3: DREDGE

 Then dredge the chicken through the beaten eggs and then cover in the flour mixture coating.

Next spray the air fryer basket with an olive oil cooking spray and then add the coated chicken pieces and cook on 380 degrees for 8 minutes.

STEP 4: TOSS

Finally, remove cooked chicken when it is golden brown and toss in the sesame sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken breast , cubed
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs , beaten
  • 2 tablespoons House Seasoning Blend

SAUCE

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

GARNISH

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a saucepan on medium heat, combine all the sauce ingredients and stir. Bring to boil then set heat to warm. Set aside until chicken is cooked.
  • In bowl, mix the natures seasoning, flour and cornstarch. Toss the chicken cubes until fully coated.
  • Dredge the chicken through the beaten eggs and then coat back into the flour. Repeat until all cubes are battered.
  • Place cubes in the oiled air fryer basket. Spray chicken with oil and cook on 380 for 8 minutes

    This was very good and easy. Dinner on the table in less than an hour. Only modifications were cutting the brown sugar in half, omitting chili oil (didn’t have any and don’t like things very spicy) and used rice wine vinegar instead of plain white. Better than store bought!

    This is better than most delivery sesame chicken I’ve had. I did about half the sugar amount and it was still sweet. So delicious!
