Better than store-bought homemade Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Yep, you can actually make delicious edible dough at home. No eggs, no raw flour, just a delicious cookie dough to enjoy all summer long! Oh, and It’s way easier to make than you might think. And, trust me on this, it’s so much better than the stuff in the freezer section! This delicious treat is perfectly sweet, gooey, and heavy on chocolate chips…just like a good chocolate chip cookie should be, but in edible dough form! Every bite is truly roll your eyes back delicious. It’s best enjoyed on those days when you really want a cookie, but don’t want to bake anything. Serve alongside with a tall glass of milk, mixed into some homemade vanilla ice cream, or simply by the spoonful!

I think we all, at one point or another, have eaten cookie dough while making a batch of cookies. I know I can’t resist it! So, what if we could have cookie dough that was safe to eat..? Well, no need to wonder anymore. Say, “hello” to the best ever edible cookie dough!

Trust me, this stuff is not only super easy to make, but it’s seriously SO. GOOD.

I mean, c’mon! Homemade chocolate chip cookie dough? Yes, please! This stuff is delicious in small quantities because, like any good cookie dough, it’s loaded with butter and sugar. So, keep this in mind. It’s easy to eat one too many bites of this stuff.

It’s rich, sweet, extra chocolatey, and tastes like every good cookie should!

Equipment Needed

  • Sheet Pan
  • Bowls
  • Hand Mixer

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Salted Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Whole Milk
  • Chocolate Chips

Instructions

Bake flour at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Set aside.

Beat together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.

Mix in the flour.

Stir in the vanilla and milk.

Add the chocolate chips.

Serve and enjoy!

The great thing about this recipe is you could mix in almost anything! But, here are a few of our favorites.

How To Store

Once the dough is mixed up, you can easily divide it into portions (or leave it whole) and store it in the freezer for 3-4 months! Just remember to get it out of the freezer and come to room temperature before eating.

Expert Tips

  • Don’t have a mixer? No problem! You can make this recipe using melted butter. Combine the ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand. The only thing is that this method makes the cookie dough greasy. You’ll need to wait for the butter to solidify before you can enjoy it.
  • This recipe can be made vegan if vegan butter, non-dairy milk, and vegan chocolate are used.
  • The cookie dough stores well!

Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

This Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the perfect treat for any occasion! Chocolate-y, sweet, and SO. GOOD.

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients
 

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • cup salted butter,, room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spread flour on rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in flour.
  • Beat in milk and vanilla.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.

    Made this tonight!😍 Cut recipe in half. Still makes a lot. Had to adjust little bit with little more butter & milk, so not so crumbly. Turned out great! Thanks for recipe 😀 will make again down the line!

    I made this tonight and followed the recipe exactly and it came out very crumbly. I had to use my hands to bring it together into more of a dough form. Also, your post says “stores well”. What is the best way to store this??

    1. Hi! I’m sorry this didn’t work out for you. I would love to help you troubleshoot it! Could you please tell me in detail exactly what you did and what happened? It does store well in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or in the freezer if you are making it in advance.
