Happy Thursday guys! Recipe of the day is Mince Pie Swirls – super quick and easy recipe with just a few basic ingredients.

This is honestly one of the easiest recipes ever. And the funniest thing is that my children are not into mince pies but they absolutely loved these Mince Pie Swirls and keep asking when I’m gonna make them again. 🙂

I think is all due to the buttery puff pastry. It just tastes divine and in combination with the mincemeat is just perfect.

All you need is puff pastry and mincemeat. Of course, you can always make your own pastry but as much as I enjoy cooking, it’s nice to have some shortcuts, especially with the stress of Christmas cooking. 🙂

Mince Pie Swirls

Make sure your oven is at no more than 180° and if you notice your swirls start burning, cover them with foil. It does happen to me quite often so I always triple check when I’m baking pastry.

What you need:

  • puff pastry
  • mincemeat
  • egg yolk
  • powder sugar

Here’s how to make these delicious Mince Pie Swirls

Ingredients:

  • 375g ready to roll puff pastry
  • 180g mincemeat
  • 1 egg yolk
  • powder sugar for serving, if wished

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Unroll the puff pastry roll. Add mince meat generously, making sure to leave about 1cm at the long end so you can roll it.
  • Gently squeeze and roll the pastry into a roll.
  • Whisk the egg yolk with 1tbsp of water and brush the roll.
  • Place on a baking tray, covered with baking parchment and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  • To serve, dust some powder sugar, if wished.
