No need to fire up the grill or put it in a pan, if you can cook your Beyond burgers or regular burgers on a Philips grill pan.
You even get grill marks from the grill pan on your burger.
I love veggie burgers. Never thought I would but the texture and taste have improved immensely.
If you love a burger but do not like to eat meat this burger is one to try. Especially if you cook it in the Air Fryer.
The Air Fryer heats easily and is great to cook like you would in a cast-iron skillet or on the grill.
Air Fryer Beyond Burgers Ingredients
To make these burgers you only need a couple of ingredients. Have the following ready:
- Hamburger buns
- Onion
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Beyond burgers
- Cooking spray or vegetable oil
- Salt (optional)
- Pepper (optional)
How To Make Air Fryer Beyond Burgers
To make this burger recipe thaw the Beyond burger patties in the fridge or cook them frozen.
Preheat your Air Fryer with this nonstick grill pan between 3 to 5 minutes at 400°F. Brush the patties with cooking spray or vegetable oil.
You do not need to brush the grill pan with a cooking product.
Even though the grill pan is non-stick I usually put a parchment liner underneath the burger patties.
Warning! Never put parchment liners in your Air Fryer without food. It will swirl around in your Air Fryer and can catch fire in the heating element.
Put the patties in the Air Fryer and set the timer to 10 minutes. Turn your patties 2 times during the cooking time.
Your patties brown evenly and get grill marks. As veggie burgers contain fat you will see excess fat on the bottom of the grill pan.
Be aware that Air Fryers vary both with temperature and cooking time. Experiment to see what your settings are.
While the burgers are cooking preheat a skillet. Thinly slice the onion into whole rings. Keep 1/3 of the onion rings separately.
Preheat a cast-iron skillet, add olive oil or spray with cooking spray and sauté the remaining raw onions until soft and translucent.
This takes about 5 minutes. Slice the hamburger bun open and layer the lettuce leaves, sliced raw onion, and sliced tomatoes.
Then put the Beyond burgers on top of the tomatoes and top with sauteed onions.
Burger Toppings
To make your hamburger taste even better add one of these great toppings and sauces on top of your burger:
- Burger Sauce
- Spicy mayo
- Cheddar cheese
- Red onion
- Pickles
- Jalapeno pepper
- Salsa
- (Vegan) bacon
Do You Season The Beyond Burger?
These burgers have enough flavor and do not really require any additional seasoning.
If you like you can sprinkle the patties with salt and pepper but it is not really necessary.
How To Thaw A Beyond Burger?
The best way to thaw a Beyond burger is to take it out of the freezer and thaw it in the refrigerator before use.
It takes at least 4 hours to thaw completely.
Can You Air Fry A Frozen Beyond Burger?
Yes, you can fry a frozen Beyond Burger in your Air Fryer. Preheat your Air Fryer to 400°F and put the burger patties on a grill pan if available.
