What You Need For This Recipe
You need several ingredients if you want to make this wrap. Have some Buffalo chicken tenders and buffalo sauce ready. You can get these in the store but when you make them yourself, they taste even better.
Have the following ready when you start:
- Tortillas – we use big-size flour tortillas
- Chicken – use breaded buffalo chicken tenders
- Sauce – make buffalo Sauce or buy at the store
- Lettuce – you can use iceberg lettuce and finely slice it
- Tomato – you can use Roma tomatoes or cherry tomatoes and dice them
- Onion – finely dice
- Carrots – cut Julienne strips
- Cheese – add your favorite grated cheese
Note that the full ingredients list, including measurements, can be found in the recipe card below.
How To Make Breaded Buffalo Chicken Wrap
- Make the buffo tenders with chicken breast, eggs, flour, and seasoning. Pan-fry the buffalo chicken tenders until crispy and drain excess fat on kitchen paper.
- Take a large flour tortilla and layer it with chopped lettuce, thinly sliced onion, and diced tomatoes. Cut the carrot Jullienne with a mandolin slicer and sprinkle it on top of the other vegetables.
- Add buffalo tenders and pour buffalo sauce on top. Now wrap the tortilla burrito-style so all the goodness stays in the tortilla.
- You can serve this wrap cold or warm it in a warm skillet coated with cooking spray. This takes about 5 minutes to warm through. Be careful as tortillas can brown very fast so when you want them warm do it gradually.
Buffalo Chicken Wrap Recipe
When you make buffalo sauce and buffalo chicken tenders you just have to make a buffalo chicken wrap. So that is what we are doing today.
Because when we want an easy dinner, this recipe is just what you need. You can make the buffalo tenders in bulk so you always have some when you need them.
Even though you use spicy buffalo sauce these wraps are not hot at all because we are adding lettuce onion, and carrots. Make them with a big burrito-size tortilla so none of that goodness can fall out.
Can You Make Buffalo Chicken Wraps Ahead?
You can make the chicken tenders ahead of time but assemble the wrap when serving. If you leave the wrap for more than a day the tortilla can get soggy from all the liquid in the lettuce and the sauce.
You can make this wrap and take it along in a lunch box.
How To Store Buffalo Chicken Wraps
You have several options to store buffalo chicken wraps. However, as this wrap contains lettuce it is wise to keep this separately from the wraps.
Lettuce contains water and when you keep that in a wrap your tortilla can become soggy.
- Refrigerator – you can store these wraps in the fridge. It is recommended to store the tortillas, chicken tenders, sauce, and lettuce separately. You can keep the tortillas at room temperature in an airtight food container. Put the salad in an airtight container as well as the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce. Keep it for up to 2 days or however long your salad stays fresh
- Freezer – you can also store these wraps in the freezer without the salad. It is recommended to keep the ingredients separately and then assemble them once reheated. It is possible to store the whole wrap but again do not add lettuce as this doesn’t freeze well. After reheating the wraps, you can add some lettuce
How To Reheat Buffalo Chicken Wraps
You have several ways to reheat buffalo chicken wraps. If you kept the ingredients separated assemble the wrap the ingredients into a tortilla and heat:
- Cast iron skillet – preheat your cast iron skillet to medium. Coat the skillet with cooking spray or vegetable oil. Then add the wrap and heat it through for about 5 minutes or until warm
- Air Fryer – you can reheat wraps in the Air Fryer. Preheat the Air Fryer to 350℉/175℃ for 3 minutes. Wrap the chicken wraps with aluminum foil and heat for 4 minutes or until warm
- Oven – instead of in the Air Fryer you can use your oven to reheat buffalo chicken wraps. Heat the oven to 375℉/190℃. Wrap the wraps in foil and heat for 7-8 minutes or until warm
Serve Buffalo Chicken Wraps With
These wraps are a meal on their own but you can make them even better when you serve them with:
- Mexican potatoes
- Mexican rice
- Chorizo rice
- Mexican street corn rice
- Mexican fries
- Cilantro lime rice
- Scalloped potatoes
