How To Make Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin
- The get the best taste in your meat, take the pork tenderloin out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with kitchen paper, before seasoning it with pork loin seasoning. This seasoning is very easy to make yourself and tastes so much better than anything you can buy in the store so give it a try.
- Set the pork aside.
- Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Then press the Sauté function on the Instant Pot and let your pressure cooker heat up. When the inner pot is hot, add olive oil and butter.
- As soon as the butter is melted and the oil is hot, add the onion, and garlic and stir to soften. Then sear the pork on all sides until browned. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- When the pork is nice and brown take it out of the pressure cooker and set it aside. Pour the chicken broth into the Instant Pot. You can also use beer, red wine, or water as the liquid of choice in this recipe
- Scrap away any browned pork bits from the bottom with a wooden spoon and bring to a boil.
- Stop the Sauté function. Return the pork to the Instant Pot, lock the lid, and turn the pressure vent to the sealing position. Set to manual and High and pressure cook for 15 minutes.
- When done naturally release the Instant pot for 10 minutes and quick-release move the pressure vent to release.
- Open the lid and check if the internal temperature of the pork is 145˚F/63℃. If the internal temperature is lower than 145˚F/63℃, close the lid, keep warm for 3-5 minutes, and check again.
- Take tenderloin out of the Instant Pot and wrap it in aluminum foil. Let the pork rest for 10-15 minutes to contain the juices.
- If the sauce is very liquid select the Sauté button and bring the jus to a boil you can add some cold butter to thicken the sauce. Leave the lid off and stir so the jus can reduce. This takes about 5 minutes and you are done.
- Slice the pork and serve with the jus.
Pressure Cooker Pork Recipe
I have to be honest when I got my pressure cooker the majority of the time, I would use it to slow cook my dishes except for a great stew.
But you can do so much more with your Instant Pot, Crock-Pot Express, or other brand pressure cooker. So glad I learned how to do more with all the options that are available on the pressure cooker.
This recipe is a great example of that. Because all the moisture stays in the Instant Pot when you pressure cook your meat will dry out.
Something that can easily happen when you roast your pork in a regular pan. You also do not have to constantly check your dish when you prepare it in the pressure cooker you can’t.
As long as the pressure cooker is under pressure you can’t open it so just set it and go do something else.
How To Store Pork Tenderloin
If you have leftover pork there are several options on how to store it:
- Refrigerator – if you want to eat the leftover pork within 3 to 4 days you can store it in the fridge. Let the pork cool completely and put it in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
- Freezer – if you want to store it longer then store it in the freezer. You can also store it in an airtight container or ziplock bag when you freeze it. Label it so you know how long it is in the freezer. You can keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Reheat Pork Tenderloin In The Instant Pot
When you want to reheat your pork tenderloin either take it out of the fridge or freezer. Put it in the Instant Pot with the cooking juices. If you do not have any cooking juices add ¼ cup of water.
Close the pressure cooker, select manual, and set it to 4 minutes. Depending on the time you have you can quick-release or let it natural release.
