  • Onion – dice the onion
  • Garlic – mince fresh garlic
  • Season – use taco seasoning to flavor the sauce
  • Olive oil – cook the sauce using oil
  • Water – add water if the sauce is too thick

How To Make Taco Sauce

  1. This is the easiest sauce you ever made. Start with peeling and finely chopping the onion. Mince the garlic. Preheat a skillet to medium-hot and add olive oil. Add the onion and stir continuously.
  2. Then add the minced garlic and stir until soft and translucent. This takes about 3 minutes. Add the tomato sauce or tomato puree, which is pureed tomato. You can also use a can of whole tomatoes.
  3. Do not use tomato paste as this concentrated tomato has a more sour taste. Stir the ingredients together before you add taco seasoning. Add a little bit of water to stir it into a smooth sauce.
  4. Let it simmer for 10 minutes to thicken the sauce. Serve immediately.

How Long Does Taco Sauce Last In the Fridge?

Ingredients

  • 350 ml tomato sauce/tomato passata / canned tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and mince the garlic
  2. Preheat a skillet to medium-hot. Add olive oil before adding the onion. Stir to soften and add the minced garlic
  3. Stir continuously until soft and translucent this takes about 3 minutes
  4. Add the tomato sauce and mix with the onion then add the taco seasoning. Stir again and add water
  5. Let it simmer for 10 minutes
  6. Ready to serve
