Given the choice between sweet or savory, I would choose savory most of the time but when given the option for these brownies I would have a hard time.
They are packed with cacao, syrup, and pecan. Pecan and chocolate are such a great combination. The sweet soft cake and the crunchy nuts.
I like to add a lot of pecans but you can also use chopped:
- Walnuts
- Pistachio
- Almonds
This recipe is great to serve as a dessert but also irresistible as a snack.
Fast Brownie Ingredients
To make this recipe you need a number of ingredients. Put the following ingredients on your grocery shopping list and have them ready when you star
- Flour
- Cocoa powder
- Unsalted butter
- Brown sugar
- Maple syrup or agave syrup
- Pecans
- Salt
- Egg, room temperature
- Vanilla extract
How To Make Homemade Brownies
To make this recipe take a small saucepan and add the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and syrup.
Heat the saucepan on medium heat and stir these ingredients until melted and combined.
Take the saucepan off the heat source. Take a small bowl and add the cacao, flour, and salt. Stir to combine this as well.
Take another bowl and whisk the egg together with the vanilla extract. Now add the flour mixture to the saucepan.
Stir it through until all the flour is incorporated in the cacao sauce. Then add the egg mixture to the pan as well.
Finely chop the pecans. In meanwhile preheat the oven to 350℉.
As a final step add the choice nibs and the finely chopped pecan to the choco mixture. Again, stir it through thoroughly.
Take a small baking dish and pour the brownie mixture in the dish and even it out.
Bake for 15-20 minutes in the oven. Check with a bamboo skewer to see if the brownie is done.
If you like a soft brownie leave it in for 15 minutes. If you want your brownie more solid leave it in for 20 minutes.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool 20-30 minutes. Yes, I know that is hard but when you take a bite you will know you made the right decision.
How To Store Brownies?
There are a number of ways you can store brownies.
- Room temperature – if you plan on eating the whole thing you do not need to store but keep it at room temperature and serve it within a day
- Refrigerator – you can easily store the brownies in the fridge for up to 3 or 4 days. Wrap the brownie in aluminum foil or in an airtight container and put it in the fridge
- Freezer – you can also store the brownies in the freezer. Put them in an airtight container or wrap the brownies individually in foil and store them in the freezer
