Easy Sliced Garlic Bread Recipe
Over on the Tortilla Channel, I showed how to make a whole garlic bread which is great when you are expecting company.
It is a very popular recipe to make but what if you want to eat just one or two slices?
No problem, just take a look at how you can turn a whole loaf into just a couple of slices.
Use your favorite shredded cheese for this bread. I like to use mozzarella and parmesan but you can also use:
- Gruyere
- Gouda
- Cheddar
Sliced Garlic Bread Ingredients
To make this recipe get the following ingredients ready when you start:
- Sliced bread
- Butter
- Garlic
- Shallot
- Parsley
- Parmesan
- Mozzarella
How To Make Sliced Garlic Bread
Start this recipe by finely mincing the garlic. Warm the butter and stir the garlic through.
Add the chopped parsley to the butter as well and stir to combine it.
Take 4 thick slices of bread. Spread the butter on the bread.
Use a mandolin slicer to thinly slice the shallot. Divide the shallot rings on top of the bread.
Then first sprinkle the parmesan on the bread before covering the mozzarella.
Set the oven to broil until hot. Put underneath the grill for approx 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Have a close watch as the bread can brown very fast underneath the broiler.
Take out of the oven and your bread is ready to serve.
Serve Sliced Garlic Bread With
This bread is great on its own but you can very well serve it with:
- Goat cheese salad
- Roasted tomato soup
- Green beans salad
- French onion soup
- Instant Pot broccoli soup
- Tossed salad with tuna
Store Garlic Bread
You can make a batch of this bread and store them so you can serve it later.
Store it in:
- Refrigerator – if you plan on serving this bread within a day or two you can put it in a ziplock bag and store it in the fridge
- Freezer – if you make more and want to keep it longer you can store it in the freezer in a ziplock bag
Thaw the bread first when you want to serve it and preheat your oven to 350F and put the bread in for 5-7 minutes.
