The Best Breakfast Sliders

Breakfast sandwiches have always been one of my favorite foods. I don’t know why such a simple food has stolen my heart for so long. They’re just so dang good.

When I was growing up my parents and I would go out to breakfast after church and they always encouraged me to order something new. I did a few times, but I always came back to my favorite breakfast sandwich.

Obviously I have high standards for breakfast sandwiches. I love them and I love to have really good ones. These breakfast sliders are beyond delicious.

I love that they’re the perfect way to make breakfast for a crowd and that they’re so easy to bring with you to events (that makes them perfect for tailgating)!

I’ve written the recipe for a small amount (only 6 sliders). That’s because this recipe multiplies beautifully and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to be able to make the exact number of sliders you need. Whether you need 6 sliders or two dozen, this recipe will work for you.

One thing I want to mention – I wrote this recipe to include a lot of seasoning on the top. It’s perfect if you’re like me and love heavy seasoning (especially if you love all flavors similar to ranch). If you like a lighter seasoning profile (or even just a standard seasoning profile), I’d recommend keeping the same amount of butter, but halving all of the spices and herbs.

If you love sliders but are looking for a recipe that’s better for the afternoon, be sure to check out my Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich Sliders! They’re so popular and so good.

Bread Options

This is by far my favorite bread to use for this recipe. I can’t recommend it enough and if you can, I would highly recommend it for this recipe.

If you can’t use King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls, I’d recommend using store bought dinner rolls instead. It’s helpful to get the kind that’s attached in a grid form. That’s because it allows you to cut them in half and only have to work with two large pieces of bread, but it’s still easy to pull the individual sliders apart after baking.

Some other great bread options for this recipe are:

  • Mini Bagels
  • Mini Croissants
  • Biscuits

What’s the Best Meat to Use?

The best meat for this recipe is completely up to your personal preference. I prefer using slices of chicken or turkey deli meat.

Other amazing meat options for this recipe are:

  • Sliced Deli Ham
  • Cooked Breakfast Sausage Patties
  • Cooked Bacon

What You’ll Need to Make the Best Breakfast Sliders

Like all of my favorite recipes, this one is very simple and only requires a couple of things to get perfect results.

The first thing you’ll need is the right bread. This is the bread I recommend and if there’s any chance that you can get it, please do! It makes all the difference and it won’t disappoint.

The only other things you’ll need are a good baking sheet and some aluminum foil to cover the sliders while they bake. This is the baking sheet I recommend using because it’s an affordable and versatile one. It will work perfectly for everything from cookies to pizza.

Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

Sliders:

Sauce:

  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Assemble the sliders on a baking sheet in this order: the bottom half of the slider buns, shredded cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, sliced deli chicken breast, the top half of the slider buns.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and dried parsley, and stir. Brush over the top of the buns.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil, bake for 10 minutes, and serve warm.

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled if you’re using a standard sheet pan, or turned into a 9 slider recipe (just multiply everything by 1.5) if you’re using a 9x9 square pan.

This sauce creates a heavy ranch flavor, which I like. If you’d like a lighter flavor profile, use the full amount of butter but only half of the various herbs and spices.

  1. I made this for breakfast using dinner rolls and bacon pieces that come in a bag. Was a wonderful change than the usual oatmeal. Will also be having some for lunch!
