Honey Garlic Ingredients
If you want to make this recipe, put the following ingredients on your grocery list so you can start:
- Carrots
- Honey
- Butter
- Garlic
- Fresh parsley
- Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
How To Make Honey Garlic Carrots
Start this recipe by preheating your oven to 425°F/218℃. Line a baking tray with a piece of baking paper and set it aside.
Trim the ends of the carrots and remove the greens from the carrots. Then wash and peel all the carrots with a knife.
Now melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Then add the garlic and stir through the butter so it flavors the butter.
Infuse for about a minute but be careful not to burn the garlic. Now add the honey into the pan and stir until dissolved.
Arrange the carrots on your baking sheet and pour the honey garlic butter on the carrots.
Make certain the carrots are all covered with honey garlic butter. Put the baking tray in the middle of the oven.
Roast the carrots for 10 minutes. Turn them halfway through the baking time. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Finely chop the parsley and garnish your carrots.
Ready to serve.
Can You Make Roasted Carrots Ahead?
Yes, you can make these carrots ahead of time and serve them when you need them. Let the carrots cool completely before storing them.
Be aware that roasted carrots will lose a little bit of texture when you serve them later so it is always best to prepare and serve them straight away.
How To Store Honey Carrots
You have several ways to store your roasted honey garlic carrots:
- Refrigerator – when you plan on serving the carrots within a day or two you can store them in the fridge. Put the carrots in a resealable bag or in an airtight container
- Freezer – my favorite method for almost anything I like to keep for longer is to store it in the freezer. You can store roasted carrots for up to 9 months. Freeze them in a freezer-friendly container or in a Ziploc bag
How To Reheat Honey Garlic Carrots
When you want to reheat roasted carrots, you have several options as well. When you froze the carrots, you do not need to thaw them first as the carrots can go soft and mussy.
Prepare them using one of these methods:
- Oven – you can just roast the carrots in the oven again to reheat them. Preheat your oven to 400℉ and put the carrots on a parchment-lined baking tray. Reheat for 5 minutes. If the carrots cook too fast cover them with aluminum foil
- Air Fryer – if you have a small portion of carrots, you can reheat them in an Air Fryer. Preheat your Air Fryer to 375℉ for 3 minutes. If you have an Air Fryer grill pan, use it to reheat carrots and put the carrots on the grill pan. You can also use the standard Air Fryer basket. To make cleaning your Air Fryer easier use parchment paper when you put the carrots in the Air Fryer (not while preheating). Heat for 3-4 minutes
- Cast-iron skillet – you can also reheat these carrots in a cast-iron skillet. It will enhance the roasted flavor of the carrots in the skillet. Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of oil before adding the carrots. Toss regularly until the carrots are warm and reheated
