Easiest Tagliatelle Bolognese Recipe
Even though you see it everywhere spaghetti Bolognese in Italy doesn’t exist. Why not you might ask?
Because the reasoning is that when you make a rich thick sauce like Bolognese you need a pasta that can hold the sauce.
Spaghetti is too thin to hold the sauce and that is why it is served with pasta, like fettuccine or tagliatelle.
Bolognese is really easy to make and maybe another surprise it doesn’t contain any tomatoes or tomato sauce.
It contains tomato paste for the sauce and a lot of patience.

Can You Make Bolognese Sauce In The Slow Cooker
The answer is simple you can make Bolognese sauce in the slow cooker. In fact, this is also a perfect recipe to prepare in your slow cooker or Instant Pot.
To do so follow the steps as described in the recipe. Instead of leaving it on the stove or in the oven for 2-3 hours, you put the Crockpot or Instant Pot on:
- HIGH – for 2 to 3 hours
- LOW – for 4 to 6 hours
Why Do You Simmer The Sauce?
The main reason is to allow all the flavors to enrich, enhance, and deepen. This is what makes homemade Bolognese sauce taste so good.
By simmering the sauce, the ingredients get the time to deepen, and by slowly cooking off the liquid in the sauce.
Then adding the vegetables will make the sauce even richer and more flavorsome.
