I love to stuff my face with chicken wings, I feel like you can never go wrong with wings. It is so versatile and easy to cook. It’s so easy to cook that it is impossible to mess up. And these wings were nothing short but amazing. And of course, I am sharing these Spicy Cilantro Lime Wings recipe with you guys.

There is a story behind these wings that I must share with you guys. I randomly had chicken wings in the fridge and I wanted to cook them, I’ve heard about cilantro lime wings but I’ve never tried them before. So I randomly craved them and decided to recreate my own recipe.

Initially, I melted way too much butter and I just used things in my pantry that I thought would help fix that buttery taste. At the end, I got this sweet but yet spicy glaze that I fell in love with.

This glaze could go on top of almost any meat that you want to revamp. I actually used this glaze for my Christmas ham that I served for the holidays, I just subtracted the hot sauce.

These wings were baked twice and seasoned perfectly, they fell right off the bone and I loved it. It was literally the definition of finger licking good.

I just wanted to go over some of the key ingredients before I go into the recipe:

Some important ingredients
  • Honey: I used it instead of brown sugar or granulated sugar because I find it wasn’t overly sweet and it made for a thicker and smoother sauce. When using sugar, I find it left grains because this sauce isn’t one you have to cook apart from melting the butter.
  • Cilantro: I highly RECOMMEND using fresh cilantro over dried cilantro, I mean if that is all you have and you have no means to get the fresh stuff then it is okay. But the freshness makes the difference.
  • Lime: Using freshly squeeze lime juice not only bring a citrus flavour but it balances out all the rest ingredients.
  • Hot sauce: This is simple. You need this to bring the spiciness to the recipe.

I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Now, let’s get into it.
