What is Peaches and Cream? OR Canned Peach Pudding

Peaches and cream is a classic dessert recipe that is very popular in the United States. It is simply a combination of chopped peaches topped with cream that whipped. I wanted to use this combination in a dessert and that’s where I decided to make this canned peach pudding

In India, especially Mumbai, I’ve never discovered sweet juicy fresh peaches. During the season, you do get peaches but their not very common and not the best like the ones overseas. Personally, I like the canned peaches as they are softer and delicious. Easy to use, completely hassle-free and so quick to discover around. Thus, you see me use a lot of canned peaches in my recipes as compared to fresh peaches

This simple canned peach pudding recipe is topped with peach chunks and sweetened heavy cream which takes this dish to the next level. It’s a quick dessert recipe you must try if your a peach lover (If not, just make it with another fruit of your choice)

Ingredients for Canned Peach Pudding

Peaches

I like using canned peaches as they are easy to use, soft and taste delicious. But you can even use fresh peach slices to make this peach pudding. Just make sure to use ripe peaches. Remove the skin and slice them neatly, they’re good to use

Cake

The base of a pudding is normally bread pieces but we are making a dessert that is rich and delicious thus, the use of cake chunks. You can use any cake sponge of your choice for the bottom layer of this pudding. Try using my BUTTER CAKE RECIPE for the base cake. It takes this dessert to the next level

How to make Custard

Our homemade custard mixture is made up of milk, sugar, and eggs. A simple, to the point recipe. This custard mixture needs to be poured over the cake chunks.

Sweet Cream

Combine some sugar and heavy cream together. Mix well until sugar dissolves and drizzle it over the peaches.

Bake

Bake the canned peach pudding in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 40 to 45 mins. The Pudding should be wobbly in the center but slightly firm around the sides. Make sure the center of the pudding is wobbly but not liquidy. It should soft not uncooked

Toppings

Toppings are optional. But Almonds and caramel syrup go really well with this pudding (Just in case you want to make it extra special). I’ve just drizzled it with some more sweet cream
