Crunchy Honey Seed Granola really doesn’t need anything else, but if you like, you can add dried fruit or nuts when you add the seeds, or add fresh fruit to your granola bowl in the mornings.

I have discovered that fruit and grains together make me quite bloated and uncomfortable, this is apparently because fruit likes to be digested first and fast, but when eaten with grains, the grains get digested first, leaving the fruit to ferment in your gut, thus making you bloated and unhappy 🙁

This is why I don’t add dried or fresh fruit to my granola, but if you don’t have this issue then go wild!

I have never tried freezing granola, but I think I will the next time I make a batch, just to see if it’s possible.

Have you tried freezing granola?  How did that work out for you?  Let me know in the comments!

  5. Stir in the sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, allow to cool. Spoon into airtight containers and store in a cool, dry place.

  6. Enjoy with raw, organic full cream dairy milk, plain yoghurt or a dairy free milk or yoghurt you love. Also can be enjoyed dry as a healthy and delicious snack!

Recipe Notes
  • It is important to bake this granola on two baking trays as this is how it becomes crunchy and golden so quickly.
  • I have tried this granola with steel cut oats, it still tastes great, but it needs a few extra minutes  of cooking time to get golden and crunchy – keep an eye on it and bake to your liking.
  • You can add nuts of your choice to this granola with the seeds – I love walnuts, almonds, cashews or pecans, and if eating fruit and grains together doesn’t make you bloated then go wild and add raisins, dates, cranberries or any dried fruit you like!
