Classic chocolate chip cookies are perfect for the Christmas baking season. Warm chocolate chip cookies are the most classic of the cookie flavors and one of the most loved. These chocolate chip cookies are warm and chewy with chocolate chips in every bite. These cookies are perfect for giving as Christmas gifts, or for any time you just want a classic chewy chocolate chip cookie. The cookie dough also freezes well, just roll the cookie dough into balls and place them into a large plastic bag and you can freeze them for up to a couple of months. That way if you don’t want to bake a whole batch of cookies, you can take out how many ever cookies that you want.

To make the cookie dough, whisk all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Beat softened butter with both granulated sugar and brown sugar until it is fluffy. Beat eggs and vanilla extract into the butter mixture and continue to beat the mixture until it is smooth. Add the flour mixture in three additions, making sure that after each addition all of the flour is incorporated into the dough. Fold the chocolate chips into the dough with a spatula. Cover and refrigerate the cookie dough for at least one hour. Chilling the dough before you bake it makes it easier to work with, and the cookie won’t spread out too much. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place them 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
