Get the following ingredients:
- Ground beef
- Bacon
- Romaine lettuce
- Tomato
- Onions
- Soft white buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Spicy mayo
How To Make A Bacon Burger
Take the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Knead the ground beef to combine and divide into patties.
You can make hamburgers with special hamburger shapes or make them by hand. Let the meat refrigerate while you prepare the other ingredients.
Turn on your barbecue or put a grill pan on the stove to high. Thinly slice the onions and tomatoes.
Start with grilling the bacon. You can put it in the grill pan or directly on the grilling grate of the barbecue. No oil or anything is needed.
If you use a charcoal barbecue spread the coals evenly over half of the coal grate. Put the sliced onions on some aluminum foil with some olive oil and put it on the side of the barbecue.
Now put the bacon in the middle of the barbecue on both the hot and cold side of the barbecue.
Flip the bacon with tongs until almost crispy then transfer to the cooler side of the barbecue.
Now place your hamburgers on the hot side of the barbecue. If you like your burgers medium then let the grill for 2 to 3 minutes and the burgers are nice and charred.
Turn and grill the other side for the same amount of time.
If you like your burger well-done turn them again and leave them for an extra minute or two before you transfer them to the cooler side of the barbecue.
Cut the burger bun in half and put them on the BBQ as well. Let them toast for a minute. Then start stacking it up.
Start with the Romaine lettuce and tomato. Add some spicy mayo, then put the beef burger on the tomato
Top with bacon and soft onions. Your bacon burger is ready to serve.
4 Ways To Prepare Bacon
There are a number of ways to prepare bacon for this recipe. Take a look at the 4 options below:
- Grill – if you have an electric grill, you are most likely able to prepare your bacon directly on the grill grate. Turn regularly and bake the bake for about 10 to 12 minutes crispy
- Barbecue – if you have a regular barbecue with a thin grill grate put foil on the BBQ and put the bacon on the foil. Bake in about 10 to 12 minutes
- Skillet – preheat a skillet without any baking product, add the bacon to the pan, and let the fat melt and crisp up the bacon. Bake crispy for about 10 minutes
- Oven – pre-heat your oven to 375℉ and line a baking sheet with foil. Place the bacon on the baking sheet making sure that they do not overlap. Roast the bacon for 15 minutes before you remove the tray from the oven. Flip the bacon using a tong. Bake for another 8 minutes
Can You Eat Raw Bacon On This Burger?
Yes, you can eat raw bacon on this burger even though bacon is not really raw but cured meat (pork belly in brine, or a mix of salt and water).
When you want to use bacon in the ground beef bake the bacon first cut it into small pieces and combine it with the ground beef before turning it into a burger.
How Do You Grill Bacon On A Weber Grill?
If you have a Weber grill as I have, you can grill the bacon directly on the grilling grate and turn occasionally using tongs.
