Pumpkin Hummus Recipe

We are guessing you already know what is coming today :). If you thought of pumpkin recipe – YES – on today’s menu is one more delicious pumpkin recipe you are going to love! Pumpkin Hummus recipe is, from today, our by far favorite sweet hummus recipe ever!

As most of our recipes come to us spontaneously, this was no exception. On Saturday we were roasting some pumpkin. The most part of the pumpkin was for meal prep, while the rest was used for making pumpkin puree, to have for smoothies or Pumpkin Spice Latte.

But still, we had a huge amount of puree that we thought would probably spoil within a few days. Then we came to the idea to make a Pumpkin Hummus, which was, trust us, the best decision ever! 🙂 It’s always better to make this recipe with homemade ingredients. But canned pumpkin is good too!

You have to try this recipe, this is the best hummus ever if you love sweet hummus! It’s 100% healthy, vegan, gluten, and dairy-free. Who would say that chickpeas and hummus combined together can make such a delicious spread!

Vegan Pumpkin Hummus

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (200 g) cooked chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 6 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 2-3 tablespoons (depending on you taste) maple syrup (or honey if not vegan)
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • water (if necessary – 1-2 tablespoons depends on your taste)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • For this recipe, we used pre-cooked chickpeas and homemade pumpkin puree. 
  • Into a food processor add cooked chickpeas, pumpkin puree, tahini, maple syrup (or honey), and pumpkin spice. Mix for about 1 minute until smooth. Add water if necessary, depending on the thickness, we added 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Transfer the mixture to a prepared jar or another dish.
  • Serve and enjoy your Pumpkin Hummus!
