How To Make Mexican Chalupas

  1. You can buy chalupas in the store but try to make chalupas yourself. It is very easy to make. Start with preheating a skillet to medium-hot. Add the ground beef and brown in about 5 minutes.
  2. As ground beef has enough fat you do not need to add anything extra like oil or butter. When the beef is browned add the chopped sweet red pepper and finely chopped onion.
  3. Stir to combine and keep on stirring until the pepper and onion are soft and translucent. Sprinkle the taco seasoning or Mexican seasoning on the meat and keep stirring.
  4. Now add the tomato puree to the skillet and stir it through the beef. Then it is time to add the kidney beans. Put on a low simmer while you add about half a cup of water.
  5. Cut the Roma tomatoes into quarters and stir through the beef. Simmer for 10-15 minutes and stir occasionally so it won’t stick to the pan. Add more water if needed and stir when added.
  6. Warm the chalupas in a preheated oven at 200℉/93℃. Scoop 3-4 tablespoons in the chalupas and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Your Mexican chalupas are ready to serve.

Best of all you can easily customize it with your favorite ingredients. If you like loads of cheese just add. Hate cheese? No problem, just leave it out. You can do that with any of the ingredients.

Just try and experiment and find your favorite recipe. I’m a feel cook so while cooking I decide what the recipe needs and add as I go along.

But if you are not that kind of cook just adjust the recipe and write it down.
