Creamy Pasta Ingredients
To get this pasta recipe on the table you need a limited number of ingredients on your grocery shopping list.
Get the following ingredients:
- Tagliatelle
- Bacon
- Cooking cream
- Onion
- Garlic
- Lemon
- Fresh parsley
- Chicken broth
How To Make Creamy Pasta With Bacon
Start to bring water to a boil. Add the tagliatelle and cook for 10 minutes (read the instruction on your packages some say 8 minutes others 10 minutes).
In the meanwhile, preheat a skillet and pan-fry the bacon until nice and crisp. You do not need any butter or oil as bacon has enough fat to get crispy.
Take the bacon out of the pan and set it aside. Keep the skillet and sauté the finely chopped onion in the bacon fat. Add the garlic and stir until soft and translucent.
Now it is time to add the broth to the skillet. Turn down the heat to a medium simmer and let the broth reduce until half.
Return the bacon to the pan before you add the cooking cream and stir through the onion and bacon and let it simmer to thicken.
Finely chop the parsley and add 1/2 tablespoon to the sauce. Drain the tagliatelle and rinse it with cold water.
Add the tagliatelle to the sauce and stir to combine with the sauce. Sprinkle some fresh parsley on top and serve your creamy tagliatelle with bacon immediately.
Best Way To Cook Tagliatelle
There are a number of steps to consider when you cook tagliatelle:
- Boil water with some salt before you add the pasta
- Take a fork to separate the tagliatelle
- Bring to the boil again with the lid closed and then reduce the heat. Leave the lid half open else it will boil over
- Check to see if the tagliatelle is done at about 8 minutes. Pasta should be al dente – so firm when you take a bite. Best to taste it
- You can throw a piece of pasta against the door of the fridge to see if it sticks but I like to taste it to see if it is done
- Do not overcook because it will go soft and soggy
- Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process
Serve Tagliatelle Pasta With

How To Store Pasta
Yes, you can store leftover pasta and you have several options to do this:
- Refrigerator – you can store your pasta in the fridge. Let the pasta cool completely first and then put the pasta in a leak-free airtight food container. Store it in the fridge for up to 2 days
- Freezer – want to keep it longer you can store it in the freezer. Again, let the tagliatelle cool completely and either store it in a Ziploc freezer bag or a food container You can store it for up to 2 months
How To Reheat Pasta
Again, you have several ways to reheat your pasta. Take a look at these options:
- Cast-iron skillet – preheat your cast-iron skillet to medium and add one to two tablespoons of olive oil. Then add your pasta (if frozen let it thaw first in the fridge). Let the pasta heat up slowly so you can that crunchy baked pasta. This takes about 5-10 minutes
- Oven – preheat your oven to 350℉ and scoop all of the pasta in a ceramic oven dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and heat for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and heat for another 5 minutes
- Air Fryer – put your pasta in a cake pan and cover it with foil. Make certain the foil is wrapped thigh so it will not lift. Preheat the Air Fryer at 350℉ for 3 minutes then put the cake pan in and heat for 5 minutes. Then remove the foil, stir the pasta and spray with cooking spray. Heat for another 3 to 5 minutes
