INGREDIENTS

  • a bunch of fresh kale
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • nutritional yeast (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Wash the kale and remove the stems. The easiest way to remove stem is by grabbing the base of the stem with one hand pushing outwards along the stem to slide off the leaves. It’s super quick.
  • It’s very important for the kale to be dry, we are sure you don’t like soggy kale chips. For fast drying use salad spinner. If you are like us, and you don’t have one, use a paper towel to remove all the water from the leaves. The process is slow but it’s worth doing it.
  • When leaves are dry, sprinkle them with some sea salt and drizzle with olive oil. Massage the oil into the kale, or use salad tongs each leaf is evenly coated.
  • Line a baking sheet with a parchment paper. Add a thin layer of kale, and let it bake for about 10 minutes. Check it out and if it’s not crispy yet let it cook for a few more minutes. Be careful not to burn the kale. When done, let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Serve with nutritional yeast on top (optional).
  • Enjoy your Crispy Kale Chips!
