Looking for healthier drinks this summer that are lower in sugar and won’t set back your health goals? We made the perfect summer drink for you: Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade that has no added sugars and is naturally low in sugar!

Ice cold strawberry lemonade is one of my favorite summer drinks, but they are often loaded with sugar (some restaurant varieties can have around 50 grams of sugar per large glass).

If you’re watching your sugar intake and eating a healthier diet, then this recipe is for you! Enjoy a refreshing glass of Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade with only 5 grams of natural fruit sugar per cup.

How to make sparkling strawberry lemonade

When mixing up your lemonade, you’ll need to make sure that you put your sparkling water in the pitcher first, then add the strawberry puree and lemon juice next.

The sparkling water will still foam up a bit, but it won’t foam up as much if you add them in that order. If you add the sparkling water after the strawberry and lemon juice, it will foam up a ton.

Here’s another tip to help reduce foaming from pouring sparkling water into your pitcher: pour the strawberry sparkling water down the side of the pitcher to reduce the amount of bubbling/foaming as you pour your sparkling water!

This works great to keep the bubbling and foaming to a minimum, making it easier to mix your drink!

Once you’ve mixed this strawberry lemonade, do a taste check and add more Stevia drops as needed to reach your desired sweetness. The amount listed in the recipe suited our tastes, but you can add more if you want your lemonade a bit sweeter.

I recommend chilling all the ingredients before making this, then adding some ice and serving immediately to keep the fizz in your sparkling lemonade. You can make this ahead, but the it will likely go flat a bit if you let it chill for a few hours.

We used strawberry sparkling water to add more strawberry flavor, but you can have fun with this recipe and use different flavors of sparkling water, like raspberry, grapefruit, etc.

Using sugar instead of Stevia

We used Stevia drops in this recipe to keep it lower in sugar, but you can make this recipe with other types of sweeteners like cane sugar.

I haven’t made this recipe with any other sweetener besides Stevia drops, so you’ll need to experiment with how much to add to get the best taste. Using different natural sweeteners like coconut sugar or maple syrup will change the taste of this recipe, so choose wisely!

If you’d like to make this recipe with real cane sugar or another sweetener (like maple syrup or agave) instead of Stevia drops, you can do that. Or do a mix of cane sugar and Stevia.

For liquid sweeteners (like maple syrup, agave, or other natural syrups), you can just add them to your sparkling lemonade and adjust the amount to suit your tastes and desired sweetness.

If you choose to use granulated cane sugar, coconut sugar, or other natural granulated sweetener, you’ll need to fully dissolve it in warm water first then add it to your lemonade.
