Summer is peach season! Peaches are delicious alone, but the addition of honey whipped cream and crunchy pistachios take them over the top.

Grilled Peaches with Honey Whipped Cream are the perfect balance of healthy (peaches) and decadent (whipped cream). The presentation is beautiful, and they would make a lovely end-of-meal finale to a dinner party. And, the recipe is quick to make—a win-win.

The peaches are also delicious on a weekend afternoon on the back porch—speaking from experience here! And as a nod to these Southern-grown peaches, a little sweet tea with these would be LOVELY.

Top tips

  • Clean your grill grates with a grill brush or a wad of aluminum foil before grilling the peaches.
  • You can whip the cream with a stand mixer or a hand mixer. Or use a whisk if you’d like an arm workout! Take care not to over-whip the cream—stop the mixer when soft peaks form.
  • Don’t have honey? Sub powdered sugar or agave instead.

Ingredients

  • Use peaches that are just barely ripe. If they are overripe, the peaches will fall apart on the grill.
  • Vegetable oil prevents the peaches from sticking to the grill.
  • Heavy cream will get whipped into a silky whipped cream.
  • We’ll sweeten the whipped cream with honey, which pairs beautifully with the peaches.
  • Vanilla extract enhances the flavor of the peaches.
  • A sprinkle of chopped pistachios on top adds color and crunch.

How to grill peaches

Start with peaches that are still somewhat firm, but starting to get soft. If the peaches are too soft, they will fall apart on the grill.

Quarter the peaches and brush them with canola oil to prevent them from sticking to the grill.

Grill the peaches, cut-side down, for 2–3 minutes.

Flip the peaches (also cut side down, but on the other side of the quartered peach) for another 2–3 minutes. Check them often so the sugars in the peaches don’t burn too quickly!

Making the honey whipped cream

While the peaches are grilling, make the honey whipped cream. I used a stand mixer (I used my grandma’s 1970s KitchenAid in butter yellow, which still works perfectly!).

You could also use a hand mixer, or whisk by hand if you’d like an arm workout.

Whip the cream until soft peaks form, and then gently stir in the honey and vanilla extract just until combined.

Serving the grilled peaches

Lastly, you just need to assemble everything on a plate.

Start with the peaches, top them with a dollop of whipped cream, then sprinkle on the pistachios.

I garnished the peaches with fresh mint from my container garden. If you want to try your hand at growing herbs, mint is the one to test out first. It’s nearly impossible to kill and grows like crazy.

Alternatively, you could set out the ingredients and let your guests top their own grilled peaches with the honey whipped cream. Pecans would be delicious on top, too!

Make it ahead

Here are a few tips to make this dessert ahead of time.

  • Make the whipped cream several hours in advance, and refrigerate.
  • Chop the pistachios.
  • Cut the peaches, brush with canola oil, and refrigerate (up to 2 hours in advance).

The peaches are best served right after grilling, so I recommend grilling the peaches, then topping them right before you serve them.
