Ingredients

  • 2 8oz cans whole water chestnuts
  • 1 16oz package hickory-smoked bacon
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 small package of toothpicks (about 30)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Drain water chestnuts. Cut each bacon strip in half. To assemble, wrap each bacon strip around a water chestnut and spear it with a toothpick to secure it. Place them on a foil-lined baking sheet. Cook in oven for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make glaze by combining ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl. After 30 minutes, remove from oven and use a basting brush to coat each piece with the glaze. Place them back on the baking dish, charred-side-up. Place back in oven for 15 minutes. Serve warm
