We have always loved that package of ranch dressing dip mixed with mayo and sour cream or buttermilk. Yep, it is delicious but is it healthy with all those calories and questionable preservatives in it? Umm, not so much.
Make this Greek yogurt ranch dip from scratch and you control what is in it! The creaminess of the yogurt replaces the calories of sour cream and mayo.
How to Make this Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip:
For the base of this yummy dip we used low-fat Greek yogurt which adds a little tangy taste. Just stir the dried herbs and seasoning into the yogurt and that is it.
This dip will keep refrigerated in a covered jar for three or four days. It is so easy and quick to put together you can make a batch in just five minutes.
We like to keep a jar of this Greek yogurt dip ready in the fridge along with an assortment of raw veggies for quick snacks and lunches. Here’s a selection of raw vegetable that we especially like with this easy homemade Greek yogurt ranch dip:
- Cucumber slices
- Broccoli
- Carrot sticks
- Snow Peas
- Jicama sticks
- Asparagus
- Radish slices
- Green scallions
- Cauliflower florets
- Grape tomatoes
When you add a little protein, like chicken or steamed shrimp along with the veggies and our Greek yogurt dip you have a healthy, satisfying lunch or snack.
Greek Yogurt Dip for Veggies and More
This Greek yogurt ranch dip is definitely great for veggies but it is perfect for so many other things as well. Chips anyone? I know you might be thinking that chips will ruin the whole healthy and low-fat theme going on right here.
But there are some healthy options available for chips. Bare veggie chips are one of the options. They are gluten-free, fat-free, preservative-free, and super crunchy like a chip should be.
Another option for healthy chips is to grab some baked lentil chips. Lentil chips are low in fat and high in protein and fiber so you don’t have to feel guilty about having some chips and dip.
This Greek yogurt dip also makes a healthy, low-fat topping for baked potatoes. Did you know that you can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream?
Greek yogurt is thick and creamy like sour cream and it has a really yummy tang. The tangy flavor in the yogurt along with the herbs and seasonings makes a delicious topping for baked potatoes.

We usually spend most of January trying to detox from all the sugar and rich, fattening foods that we indulged in during the last couple of months of the year. It is a good time to reset and find a better balance for healthy choices.

Greek Yogurt Dip
Ingredients
- 2 cups 16 ounces 2% Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons dried dill
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Fresh ground white or black pepper
Instructions
- Add the Greek yogurt to a medium-size bowl and whisk in the garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, salt and peppers. Transfer to a serving dish and serve. Store any remaining dip in a covered container in the refrigerator.

Yup, new year, and I definitely need some healthy eating -- I've been WAY too unhealthy since November! Anyway, yogurt dips are so good, and I love using Greek yogurt -- great flavor and texture. This looks terrific -- thanks.
