Who doesn’t like a tasty recipe that doesn’t require hours of kitchen time? So, want to learn how you can make the best fish fajitas? Let’s get started!
What You Need For This Recipe
If you want to make fish fajitas you need at least the following ingredients on your list. Have the following ingredients ready when you start:
- Panga filets – choose a firm white fish for this recipe you can use panga, cod, or hake filets in this recipe
- Flour – to coat the fish and turn it into a crisp layer
- Mushrooms – fajitas are served with vegetables and that is why I add mushrooms
- White onion – you can use sweet or regular white onions. Sweet onions have more flavor
- Red onion – for color and taste add some red onion
- Bell pepper – I like to add sweet red bell peppers as they have more flavor compared to regular bell peppers
- Garlic – add some fresh minced garlic
- Olive oil – to cook the fish you need oil. I use olive oil in this recipe
- Flour tortillas – either use store-bought or make flour tortillas from scratch it only requires 3 ingredients
- Fajitas seasoning – to season the fish and the flour to coat the fish add fajita seasoning
- Salt & pepper – season to taste with salt and pepper

How To Make Fish Fajitas
- To make this fish fajitas recipe you start with the prep work all the slicing of the onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Finely mince the garlic.
- Make the flour mixture by combining the flour, fajitas seasoning, salt, and pepper and put it on a large plate.
- Take a fork and stir the flour mixture to thoroughly combine. Wash the Panga fish filets with cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Take a fish filet and put it in the flour mixture. Turn and cover the other side of the filet with flour. Repeat for the second fish filet and set it aside.
- Now heat the skillet and add olive oil. Let the skillet warm through and add the bell pepper. Stir and move it around in the pan. After a minute add the onions and keep on stirring so you can let it go soft.
- Then add the mushrooms and garlic to the pan and combine with the other vegetables. Turn down the heat and in the meanwhile heat a second skillet.
- You can heat your flour tortillas by heating the oven to 400℉/200℃. Wrap the tortillas in thin foil and let them warm for 6-8 minutes.
- Add olive oil to this skillet and now add the fish filets. It will only take 4 to 5 minutes per side to let the filets get a crispy crust that is golden brown.
- Serve the fajitas on a warm tortilla and add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable mix.
Easy Fish Fajita Recipe

It takes only a couple of minutes to cook. As long as you have a good skillet and flour.
Because flour is the magic ingredient in this recipe. Preferably you use fresh fish but if you use frozen let it thaw completely before you use it.
The second thing you need to do is pat the filets dry. The flour will take care of the crispy crust when you pan-fry fish. If you are gluten intolerant you can leave the flour out of this recipe but it gets better if you can use flour as described below.
How To Store Fish Fajitas
You can store leftover fish fajitas and have several ways to do so. Let the fish cool completely. Store the tortillas separately from the fish to prevent them from getting soggy:
- Refrigerator – you can store fish fajitas in the fridge. Put them in an airtight food container and store them for up to 2-3 days
- Freezer – want to store them longer you can put them in the freezer. Store the fish in a freezer-friendly food container and store them for up to 2 months
How To Reheat Fish Fajitas
You have several ways to reheat fish fajitas.
- Oven – you can reheat the fish and vegetables in the oven. Put the leftover fish fajitas in an oven dish and preheat the oven to 375℉/190℃. Heat the fish for 7 – 10 minutes or until warm
- Cast iron skillet – you can also use a cast iron skillet to reheat the fish fajitas. Heat the skillet to medium and add olive oil. Add the fish and vegetables. Let it heat slowly to prevent the fish from sticking to the skillet. Turn the fish to heat both sides until warm
- Air Fryer – you can also heat leftover fish fajitas in an Air Fryer. Preheat the Air Fryer to 350℉/175℉. Heat the fish for 5-7 minutes or until warm

Fish fajitas

Ingredients
- 2 Panga filets
- 4 small tortillas
- 1 tablespoon flour

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
