Quick And Easy Mushroom Side Dish Recipe
What is even better about this recipe is that you have it on the table in less than 10 minutes. Pro tip: when you store your mushrooms in the fridge do not keep them too long. Try to use them when they are still white and firm.
You can use mushrooms even if they have gone brown a bit but they will not stay as firm when you bake them in your skillet.
They will also become a bit mushy so if you make this recipe use fresh and firm mushrooms. These mushrooms are the perfect side dish, totally vegan, and fit a low-carb diet.
Clean Mushrooms
If they are clean, you can use them as is so no cleaning. If the mushrooms contain a tiny bit of dirt, you can use a mushroom brush to get rid of loose dirt.
You can also wipe them clean with a paper towel. Resist the temptation to rinse them in water. To get the best result you want your mushrooms dry.
How To Store Garlic Mushrooms
You have several options to store your cooked garlic mushrooms. Let them cool completely before storing them:
- Refrigerator – you can store the garlic mushrooms in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Store them in an airtight container
- Freezer – if you want to store them longer you can store them in the freezer for at least 3 months. Store them in a freezer-friendly food container or a resealable bag
How To Reheat Garlic Mushrooms
When you reheat mushrooms especially from frozen, they will contain a lot of moisture. So, when you heat the mushrooms let them get hot enough to evaporate all the excess moisture.
- Skillet/Wok – you can reheat them in a cast iron skillet or a wok for that matter. Let the skillet preheat, add a drizzle of oil, and then add the leftover mushrooms. Stir continuously so the mushrooms get warm from all sides and get some color. Keep on moving the mushrooms until warm
- Air Fryer – you can also reheat them in the Air Fryer. Put a cake pan in the Air Fryer and heat to 390℉/195℃ for 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms to the cake pan and heat for 4-5 minutes or until warm. Stir a couple of times
- Oven – you can also reheat garlic mushrooms in the oven. Put an oven dish inside the oven and heat to 400℉/200℃. Add the garlic mushrooms and heat for 6-7 minutes or until warm. Stir a couple of times to brown evenly
