How To Make Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  1. Start with the chicken marinade or some ground turkey. Ideally, you make the chicken marinade in advance. If not make your chicken marinade now or brown your ground turkey.
  2. Now add the finely sliced red onions. Add two tablespoons of taco seasoning to the chicken meat. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Then add some water and let the chicken sauté for about 7-10 minutes so the seasoning can be absorbed by the chicken. Take off the heat and set it aside.
  4. Heat a skillet and add olive oil to the pan. Sauté the bell peppers and onions until they are soft and translucent.
  5. I use pico de gallo in this recipe which is really easy to make. While browning your meat or sautéing your vegetables you can make this pico de gallo.
  6. Take the pan with bell peppers off the heat. Now it is time to assemble your lettuce wraps. Take a leaf of iceberg lettuce.
  7. Take a couple of tablespoons of chicken marinade or ground chicken. Then add sautéed bell peppers on top of the chicken. Garnish your lettuce wrap with tangy pico de gallo and your chicken lettuce wrap is ready to serve.

Can You Make Lettuce Wraps Ahead Of Time

You can make this chicken lettuce taco wrap partly ahead of time. You can prepare the chicken marinade ahead of time, up to 2 days in advance.

Store it in the fridge in an airtight container and warm it when you are ready to serve. Peel the lettuce leaves when you are ready to assemble the lettuce wrap.

Ingredients

  • 300 gram ground turkey or chicken marinade
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • Pico de gallo
  • 2 tablespoons Taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
