What You Need For This Recipe

To make this Mexican wrap recipe you need several ingredients. I would recommend that you make an extra batch of the Mexican chicken and store it in the freezer.

Then you only need to thaw and it is ready for use. Make sure you have the following ingredients on hand when you start:

  • Flour tortillas – you can use store-bought or make flour tortillas from scratch
  • Chicken – one of my favorite chicken dishes to use is Mexican chicken marinade
  • Lettuce – I use Iceberg lettuce and finely slice
  • Bell pepper – use sweet red bell pepper
  • Yellow bell pepper – thinly slice
  • Onion – finely slice
  • Red onion – finely slice
  • Cheese – add grated parmesan cheese

How To Make A Chicken Wrap

The star of this recipe is two-fold. You need the best tortilla preferably homemade flour tortillas and the best Mexican chicken marinade.

Make A Lunch Wrap

  1. If you like to eat this recipe as a lunch wrap you can use all the ingredients cold. You have to make the Mexican chicken marinade but you can also use left-over rotisserie chicken or shredded chicken.
  2. Slice the bell peppers into thin slices as well as the red onion and white onion. You can use a mandolin slicer to finely slice. Chop the iceberg lettuce and grate the parmesan cheese.
  3. Now take a tortilla and decorate it with the finely sliced iceberg lettuce. Sprinkle the thin-sliced bell peppers on top as well as the onions.
  4. Then add your cold chicken and decorate your wrap with grated parmesan cheese.
  5. You can either roll up your tortilla burrito-style you can take for lunch or fold it when you want to eat it straight away. If you like a sauce with your chicken wrap you can make a simple ranch dressing.
  6. Just take 2 tablespoons of sour cream and add 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning. Stir thoroughly so the sour cream is properly seasoned.
  7. Drizzle the sauce on the chicken or dip the wrap in your sauce. Whatever you like best. The sauce is optional.

Make A Dinner Wrap

  1. If you like to eat this chicken wrap as a dinner wrap just follow the lunch wrap instructions but heat the wraps. Preheat your oven to 400℉/200℃.
  2. You can roll the chicken wrap in aluminum foil or you can fold the wrap and then cover it with some aluminum foil. Heat the Mexican chicken wrap for at least 10 minutes and your dinner is ready.
  3. Serve the sauce as a side dish. Do not sprinkle it on the chicken before you put it in the oven.

When you eat this chicken tortilla solo when you eat it for lunch. If you serve it for dinner, you can eat it with:

  • Mexican potatoes – Mexican potatoes are a great side dish to eat with your chicken wrap
  • Tex Mex rice – this spicy rice is a nice dish to eat with your dinner wrap
  • Mexican street fries – a wrap with fries is a great combination. Bake together in the oven to save energy
  • Cilantro lime rice – a great side dish with both fresh cilantro and lime

  2. Slice the bell peppers, red and white in thin slices. Finely chop the iceberg lettuce. Grate the parmesan cheese
  3. Take a tortilla and decorate with the finely sliced iceberg lettuce. Sprinkle the thin sliced bell peppers and onions on top of the iceberg lettuce
  4. Add your cold chicken and decorate your wrap with grated parmesan cheese
  5. Optional - If you like a sauce take 2 tablespoons of sour cream and add 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
  6. Stir thoroughly so the sour cream is properly seasoned. Drizzle the sauce on the chicken or dip the wrap in your sauce
  7. Roll up your tortilla burrito style you can take for lunch or fold it when you want to eat it straight away

Notes

Want to eat this chicken wrap for dinner. Heat the oven to 400℉/200℃ and wrap your chicken wrap with aluminium foil. Heat for 10 minutes in the oven and serve.

    Yup…
    Wanted a simple dinner chicken wrap and found your recipe… Also found the Mexican Potatoes recipe to go with the wraps..
    I’m sold… Today’s early dinner for two..
