Orange Pancakes

What is the difference between crepe and pancakes?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a crepe is a very thin and small pancake. As for a pancake still according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, it is a flat cake made of thin batter and cooked on a griddle on both sides.

So in short; a crepe is a very thin pancake that is perfect for a variety of filling or different toppings. And a pancake is a little bit thicker and usually, there is baking powder into the recipe to make them fluffy.

Well, I don’t know about you, but that you name them pancakes, flapjacks, crepes, or hotcakes I love them in any shape or form:)! That is why I have so many different recipes to make pancakes at home. With fruits, with zest, with extract and even with cottage cheese in it!

What to serve with pancakes?

I know everybody has their favorite from maple syrup to honey or jam. Mine it’s orange butter!

How to make orange butter?

In a small saucepan on a low fire, put the butter to which you will sprinkle flour on it. Cook the butter and the flour. When it’s cooked add the oranges zest, the orange juice, the brown sugar, the maple syrup, and the water. Whisk carefully. When it is well-mixed pour into a bowl and set aside. You can serve it warm or cold. You can keep it in the fridge for 4 days, into a small container.

How to make cheese pancakes from scratch?

In a mixing bowl, add the eggs, the vanilla, the sugar, the orange juice and it’s zest, the cheese, the baking powder and mix vigorously.

After adding the flour, the spices, and the dry fruits and mix again.

Now it’s time to cook them on medium fire. Add a little bit of vegetable oil into a small bowl and with a brush, brush the non-adhesive skillet. Then pour a ladle of the pancake mix into the skillet. Cook each side for about 2 minutes or until you see appearing some bubbles through.

Set them aside until ready to serve.

Fruity, sweet and so delicious!
