Easy Crockpot Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe

Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, says comfort food like a big bowl of pasta, and one of my favorites is Spaghetti and Meatballs.  But let's be real, who has time to make homemade meatballs in the middle of the week?  Heck, as busy as some of us are, who has time on the weekends?

That's why when my friend told me how she makes hers in the crockpot I was like GAME ON!  I was totally blown away by the simplicity of this recipe and I KNOW it's going to be a family favorite so...

Let's Get Started!

For this Easy Crockpot Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe you will need a few simple ingredients:

  • 1 bag of Frozen Meatballs
  • 1 lb of Spaghetti
  • 1 24 oz jar of Pasta Sauce
  • 4 c Beef Broth
  • 2c Water
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 1/4 c Brown Sugar (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp Basil, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

To begin break the spaghetti pasta in half and place in the slow cooker.

Next drizzle the olive oil over the pasta.

Using your hands work the oil into the pasta.
This keeps the pasta from sticking together while cooking.

Now add the pasta sauce and...

the beef broth.

Its time to add the onion (yes, I was lazy and used dried minced onion), garlic, and basil.

Oh, I almost forgot!

Add the brown sugar.

This part is optional, but my family likes a sweeter sauce and it also helps with the acidity.

The pasta needs to be totally submerged in liquid to fully cook, so fill your pasta sauce jar with water and add the to slow cooker until the pasta is covered.

It should look like this.

Don't worry, it doesn't affect the flavor of the sauce at all.

Now place the frozen meatballs on top of the pasta.

Place the lid on the crockpot and set on LOW for 5 hours.

After five hours give it a stir and you are ready to eat!

I would be lying if I said initially I had my doubts about this one, but my mind was totally BLOWN at how well this Easy Crockpot Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe turned out!  The pasta was perfectly cooked, the meatballs were nice and tender, and of course we loved the sauce because its one of our favs!  I know you're going to love this one so get in the kitchen and make it TONIGHT!

And as always...

Happy Reading, Happy Eating and Happy Crocktober!
