  4. Take two tablespoons of fajitas seasoning, preferably homemade, and put it on top of the meat. Add about a cup of water to cover the meat and bring it to a boil before you put it in the oven for 90 minutes.
  5. Turn the meat halfway through the cooking time and add more water if necessary. The meat should be largely covered with liquids. In the last 15 minutes of the oven cooking time heat a skillet and add some oil.
  6. Put the sliced bell peppers and onion in the pan and let them go soft on medium heat. Just stir slightly and keep warm until you are ready to plate up your pork fajitas.

It is such an easy pulled pork recipe. If you do not eat all of the pork, store it in the fridge and make a pulled pork sandwich the next day. The taste gets even better if you leave it overnight.

Pork Fajitas Recipe

If you love pulled pork but the thought of making it yourself is daunting this recipe will take your fears away. This recipe can be made with a:

  • Slow cooker
  • Pressure cooker
  • Crock-Pot
  • Instant Pot
  • Oven

What all of them do is make sure that the moisture that evaporates stays in the pan, slow cooker, Crock-Pot, or Instant Pot.

That is why you need to close the lid of the pan when you put it in the oven. I made the mistake of putting the pan in the oven but without the lid on.

It would take much longer for the meat to go soft and usually, it would be very dry. Even after adding lots of water during the cooking process.

Then I made the no-knead bread recipe and it called for the lid on the pan to keep the moisture inside. That made me decide to do the same with my meat dishes and it worked beautifully.

To get tender shredded brisket beef or pulled chicken all follow the same routine. Just close the pan before you put it in the oven and you have the best slow cooker pulled pork you can find.

Pork’s Secret Ingredient

You can also use pork chops from the pig’s shoulder for this recipe. If you like you can take the bone out before cooking. However, as the meat will be so tender after cooking it will fall off the bone.

So if you leave the bone it will be alright. What makes this recipe so spectacular is the softness of the pork. To achieve this soft moist meat, you need to add some acidity to the pork as it will help make the meat go soft.

The secret ingredient to get this done is apple cider vinegar. No worries as you will not taste any apple, although apple and pork go great together.

The apple cider will do a great job and turn the pork into the softest meat you ever tasted.
