Sparkling Fruit Juice Mojitos

Looking for an easy and ultra tropical cocktail? Try these Sparkling Fruit Juice Mojitos, made with Havana Club Rum for a perfectly unique sip! Easier than a traditional Mojito, these cocktails are perfect to make during a party. Cheers, friends!

Hello, party people! It seems that I ran-off to Cuba and never returned, didn’t it? Well I am back now, settled into my new job and loving every moment of it. I had a blast in Cuba and came back with a million ideas. I also tried crocodile, which was the culinary surprise of the trip! I may or may not have drank too many Mojitos and other sugary drinks. Something about the sun, ocean and being surrounded by friends in +30 degree weather makes the drinks go down real easy. I came back to Winnipeg with a thirst for fruity tropical drinks, which is a huge change from my typical preferred beer. I’ve been playing bartender on the weekend and came-up with an ultra easy Sparkling Fruit Juice Mojito recipe that is sure to be a hit!

With a typical Mojito you need to muddle lime, sugar (or simple syrup), mint and rum. That takes time to make sure it is mixed properly and integrates well with the soda water. With these Sparkling Fruit Juice Mojitos, you need to muddle much less – just smash the mint with some Añejo 3 Años Havana Club and add ice, fruit juice and soda water. Much less technical and much easier to mix-up when you’ve had a cocktail or two already. These Sparkling Fruit Juice Mojitos are also not super sweet, which make for an easy sip anytime of year.

Any citrus based juice works really well in this cocktail. I’ve tried it with grapefruit, lime and a tropical mango mix. My favourite, however, is President’s Choice Pomegranate Cranberry Sparkling Fruit Juice (pictured below). It’s fresh, not overly sweet and is already carbonated, making the drink lighter and easier to sip. It’s not the cutest colour but it blends well with the 3 year Havana Club rum that I picked up in Cuba (since it is a bit more fuller body of a rum).
