This red, white, and blue berry yogurt parfait recipe is a quick, healthy, and totally delicious breakfast. A drizzle of honey takes the taste to the next level!

I wanted to make something that’s somewhat patriotic for my American readers. This is a really nice and simple patriotic breakfast that can kick your Fourth of July celebrations off in a healthier way. 🙂

This granola parfait couldn’t be much easier to make. It really isn’t much of a recipe… you basically just layer the ingredients in whatever fashion you choose. I don’t think there’s really a right or wrong way to do it. These patriotic parfaits can get pretty filling (and calorie dense) without realizing it, so I try not to pack the layers too tight, but that’s about all there is to it.

I tend to eat yogurt parfaits when I am traveling. It’s an easy thing to pick up at the airport, and most hotels have them in their coffee shops. I do prefer the taste when you make them fresh yourself, though!

You can make these yogurt parfaits ahead so they’re ready for you in the morning or eat them right away. I personally like to leave mine for a while (like overnight) because I find granola can be a bit too crunchy on my teeth otherwise.

Feel free to skip the drizzle of honey (the granola and vanilla yogurt is already sweet enough), but I really like it as a special finishing touch.

You don’t need to limit yourself to raspberries and blueberries in this yogurt granola parfait. They’re two of my favorite fruits, but strawberries would work just as well. Or even ditch the color scheme altogether and make it with whatever fruit you have on hand if you’re not aiming for a July 4th recipe.

I used a coconut granola, but whatever granola you buy is totally fine.

Just a side note – I originally wrote the recipe with the word “punnet” to describe the quantity of blueberries and raspberries, but I wasn’t sure that it’s a word used outside of the U.K. As someone who was born in the U.K. but spent most of my life in Canada, grew up with American TV, and I’m now married to a Brit, I sometimes get confused on who uses what word. 😛

Red, White, and Blue Yogurt Parfait

This red, white, and blue berry yogurt parfait recipe is a quick, healthy, and totally delicious breakfast. A drizzle of honey takes the taste to the next level!
Prep: 10 minutes
Servings: 2 parfaits

Ingredients 

  • 1 (8.8 ounce) container fresh raspberries
  • 1 (8.8 ounce) container fresh blueberries
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt to taste
  • Granola to taste
  • Honey to taste

Instructions 

  • In a glass, mason jar, or even a bowl, add a base layer of granola or yogurt.
  • Build layers with the fruit, yogurt, and granola until you've either filled the container or used up your fruit. I don't pack the layers too tight.
  • Drizzle some honey on top and let it run down to the lower layers. 
  • Either serve immediately or keep it in the fridge overnight. 

Notes

  • You may not use all the berries, but that's ok.
